I've got to get to mine one of these days.Mine was very light too, and I was going to dye it dark red, but decided to dye it dark brown, more like what it probably should have been in the first place. I used Fiebings dark brown leather dye, which is an alcohol based dye. The process is simple. Use a q tip, and paint the dye on the center section. Wipe up any excess off of the light end areas. Let that dry for several hours, and reapply. I dyed this one 3 times. The bone is so dense, that it probably won't last this way forever, but it is so simple to reapply, it can always look like this. After the last coat, I let it dry overnight, and then buffed with a soft cloth to remove any dye left sitting on the surface. Then apply Renaissance wax. The wax helps protect the dye from faster wear in the pocket or slip.
