I like the knives alright, but I'd really like to get that book! The idea of a Frenchman living in America and doing cooking is ....enticing. According to Wiki ( a notoriously lazy source I know) he and another man won a competition and spent over 4000 USD on a meal in a Parisian restaurant, and this back in the 1970s...:cool:

School has been over for me for about a month and a half now, and the public library branch 4 blocks from my house has finally reverted to almost-normal hours and almost-normal operations, so I can go in and browse the shelves at my leisure. So I've been doing a fair amount of recreational reading over the past 6 weeks. I read quite a bit of mystery/detective/thriller fiction, some sports/games books, some math-related stuff, and some classics. Here are a couple of books I re-read recently featuring a character named Lucas Davenport, written by John Sandford. (These 2 books actually came from Little Free Libraries in the neighborhood, rather than from the public library.) The nice thing is that, at this stage of my life, I can re-read books like this as if it were the first time - I recall almost nothing about the plots of the books from previous reading(s)!  🤪

That looks like a good one Gary. It’s been awhile since I read anything that wasn’t fly fishing related, I need to branch out! 😊Those knives look good together! 😉👍

I've been reading a lot of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series lately. I download them from NYC Public Library and return when I'm done. Easy peasy.

Gary, I recently read a Reacher novel I found in the local public library branch when they finally started keeping semi-normal hours again in early June. Somehow I missed this one when I was trying to read all the Reacher books in order a few years ago.

I read that one a couple of years ago, according to the library's records. I'm trying to read them in order, but I end up taking what is available when I feel the itch to read another.
