Carothers and Guns

PS. 686 is great revolver overall , but if you need exceptional action, try 66 or 27 ( I have no dash and not sure that the modern models does the same)
What I’m talking about?…. I have 627-5PC. My 27 no dash had the better action than 627 PC out of the box. That’s the fact-))

All good advice above. I’ll throw in a couple other personal observations.

Shooting darker plates at 100+ yds gets difficult for me to identify and get on target quickly with a red dot (and extremely difficult on a 5” plate). LVPOs are SO much better for my eyes at distance, especially for a target that may be in shadows. A well lit shooting range with bright paper targets might not be as bad.

So I have LVPOs with illuminated reticles on 2 rifles now, with the option to swap the red dot on the AR (QR mounts for both).

Forgot to mention that; both the Razor and Kahles have daylight-bright illumination.

Some scopes have pretty weak/dim illumination that's only really easily visible in lower light conditions. The Razor and Kahles get bright enough that the illumination is still clearly visible against light colored targets in noonday summer sun (important for speed in competitions).

I was thinking the 357magnum, I used to love to shoot my Ruger GP100. wish I still had it for sure. But going to the range was fun. after about 2-3 moon clips of 38's, I'd switch off to the 9 and then load the 357 in. The concussion in an enclosed range would just slap the people a couple of lanes either side of me. every time you'd hear this "jesus !"from at least one or two folks.....Made my day every time, lol

The most loud of popular pistol calibers in indoor range is 500,44. You don't see them that often, but anyway. Most horrible for me it’s 223. If someone firing on the next line, I’m going somewhere to load the magazines . If somebody practice with Sig Rattler, it’s time to go home. My pants are shaking…

Not a great pic but I'm pretty pleased with this acquisition.

Now to decide on a holster, order some new sights and get some speed loaders for this beast. I'm a happy camper.

Nice Dylan! You should see my watchlist on a certain gun auction site… been leaning hard in this direction as well. The Python is one that caught my eye wayyy back in the 80’s going to the gun range with my dad. It’s calling again.

New toy Tuesday! Actually got the Staccato last week but new toy Tuesday sounded better. Plus daughters car broke down and wife wants to get her a new one. Probably selling some Busse knives and trying to hold onto all my CPK’s. Glad it didn’t break down before I got the Staccato P:)
