Carothers and Guns

I’ve actually got 5 of those models with the full rail. Crazy how much shite I’ve managed to collect over the years. Had to move 1 of the safes last week and found stuff in it I forgot I had.

It is possible one could become available sometime as I’m looking at moving to the farm within 5 years and need to whittle all this crap down before the move:)
I've got enough .45 1911s but a 9mm is what I NEED. LOL

I love my P229 Legion SAO. I have a Holosun 507C on it. I always think about going American made but the price always brings me back and I love the Holosuns. I have a buddy that is all Vortex. I really like the circle dot. Come on Trij.

I’ll be counting the days until the mandatory waiting period is over. I do have an extra Holosun 507C that I’ll probably run on it. Swapped that for a Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated that’s on my XTEN.

Being fiber optic and tritium illuminated, no batteries on the RMR. I agree though, Holosun nailed it w/ the circle dot and side mounted battery tray. Come on Trijicon ! 🤣🤣🤣

Trijicon RMR HD ... redesigned top load battery tray. A little tough to get a hold of currently without paying a bit of a premium for it at least, but finally you can change a battery without removing the optic.

I take it you didn’t realize the Trijicon RMR-HD HAS a switchable circle-dot?

You have my sympathy…how long is the waiting period ?
I beleive it’s a 10 “business day” or 2 week period w/ the new laws. You’d think w/ my 3 CPLs , veteran status, many previous purchases in this state, etc. ….they could use all those 1’s and zeros that travel at the speed of light to deem me “worthy”.

My last purchase took 17 days to clear.

…and it comes w/ a red 55 MOA circle w/ 3.25 or 1 MOA dot ! I’m considering holding out for a green dot version. Or, perhaps I’ll jump on the red and hope for the best. They’ll probably resale easily. This is exciting stuff ! 👍🏼

I decided I wanted all my dots similar. My LPVOs all have simple single red dot reticles. My RMRcc and SRO both have the same simple small red dot. In my mind, I was worried about the green dot not working well outdoors. Although, this seems to be a non issue for those who go green. I went with small dots and if I feel like I can't pick it up soon enough, I just turn it up. For me, an extra bright small dot is more than enough if I need a little extra. Plus, I didn't want a crowded field of view. My next one will be the RCR enclosed emitter. Perhaps another SRO and RMRcc as well.

Sorry long post.

Really proud of how well my oldest son did shooting at the farm today. We got to practice a lot this spring and summer but havn’t shot pistols in about 3 months.. He is about to turn 13. Yep I hear you wondering, I had my first boy at age 40. They're keeping me young for sure.

Some .22 action.

Running his Python.

Running some drills with .38’s.

New Chiappa.

First time he has shot a 9mm, the Glock17.
