Maybe it's the types of groups I am in or something but I hear the unsupported wood thing aaalllllll the time- usually with one brand and it's owner claiming this but it pops up on occasion in other places here and there.

That article you listed is amusing. At the end, he is basically saying, "If you're going to chop with a knife, then try this BRKT". Sorry, Bark River knives are pretty much close to the last knives I would ever recommend to anyone for any kind of rigorous use. They may look pretty but they are about as tough as fine china.

I find myself revisiting this, almost in hopes of finding a proponent of the Unsupported Wood Theory (henceforth UWT). Just the absurdity of it is hilarious.
