**UPDATED Tues. 5/14/02**

Contest is now OVER! We have a winner!

Baby Boy came today at 2:40 pm. 8 lbs. 12 oz. 21" long.

Thanks to all!

**UPDATED**

My wife is due to deliver a Baby Boy on Monday, May 6th. :)
I'm feeling pretty lucky myself  so I though I'd share with the rest of you!

I'm opening up a "guess the stats" type contest...

Winner gets a 6" Kagas Katne!

Provide your best guess for the following:

1. Day & time of day:
- ie. Monday morning, Wedneday night, etc.
2. Height:
- whole number inches = 20, 21, 22
3. Weight:
- lbs. & ounces

The winner will be the one who gets the most correct (in order) and/or gets the closest to the actual time/size - or, if anyone guesses the exact weight & height, regardless of the day.

Still with me? It's been a long week for both of us. :D

This will be baby #2. For those that want to know, baby #1 was 3 days late, came at 4:40 on a Sunday morning, 21" long, 9 lbs. (Those with kids know that none of this really matters anyway:D)

At the last midwife visit, she estimated the weight (by touch) to already be at 7 lbs. 4 oz. That was 2 weeks ago.

My wife is in great health and will be delivering naturally at the birth center in Bethesda, MD. With baby #1, the active labor lasted about 5 hours

Now, for the rules:

1. Earlier posts take precedence.
2. Given the nature of this contest, any posts that are edited will have to be disqualified...sorry
3. I will be checking in from time to time to update the progress. If, for any reason the baby is late (again  ) feel free to post another guess. Rule #1 still applies.

So, it behooves you to guess correctly the first time, but you can still get another chance in case you guess "this afternoon" by accident.;)

Best of luck to all!

Dan

Congratulations. Dont have a real good guess, but Id warrant the baby will come when it wants making sure that its a time that will be most inconvenient, it will be a size that will be most surprising, and a weight that will allow it to come out swinging the kagnes katne. :D Again congratulations.

Dan:

I take it you didn't make it to Smithsonian Craft. That's OK, you didn't miss much. Almost all of the artisans who made it this year also show in the November DC Craft Show.

I guess it means you won't make Maryland Sheep and Wool this weekend, either...
