Ok, ok.

This knife arrived in the summer of 2022 I believe. The pic is from that time. Unfortunately I donā€™t have that (or any) HDFKs left.
I fell for this knife watching @Lorienā€™s WIP thread. I have liked Khukuri designs since I just before joining the forum in ā€˜09. I ordered a Khukuri House model and really like everything about it, except the handle. Not at all enjoyable when actually working the knife. So I contacted Lorien mid way through the second khuk build to see if dibs were called and was awarded ā€œfirst right of refusalā€ as Lorien put it.
My intention was to beat it like a rented mule but upon arrival, it was just to damned sexy!!! I mean, LOOK at those curves!!! Plus the details Lorien added. The spine fuller, swedge, his logo placement and the near mirror finish. I was enamoured with the knife in hand!!
Between working 6-7 days a week since 2021, a busy family life with the arrival of my grandson and then the twins a short time later, I just couldnā€™t find the time to bring it out and mark it up. I also had a fairly significant chopper collection at that time so into the vault it went.

I am really excited to see how Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist turns the knife into a CPK production model. We all know what Nathan can do and Iā€™m positive it wonā€™t disappoint!!!!
 
I learned a lot building that khuk! It would be cool to build another some time down the road, but I think I'd like to handle the CPK version first.

There's a quasi khukuri on my bench right now that I'm going to make for myself once I square away the rest of my commitments.

It's pretty tiny- intended for limbing and pruning type use. Fairly light duty stuff.

To me that Kukri is an Ultimate Score.
Also I have purchased a few Khukri House and other models and am always disappointed with the handles. I guess I need more Western Kukri.

Hopefully the pre-order will be soon
