EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

On a less execrable note, we had a very pleasant day here, relaxing early with our morning coffee while reading online. I did the Sunday crossword followed by a two mile walk as the sky cleared for a warm, sunny day with a light breeze. After our usual mid-day fruit bowls with meat and cheese, I spent some time fitting the stops I made for the double-hung bathroom window I'm rehabbing with lots of back and forth to the wood shop as I cut and fit, worrying in the bottoms and top miters. I made and sanded a new parting strip for the top to accommodate an added weather strip, then stained those parts to more closely match the old, refinished casing and got a coat of urethane applied on the bench after the stain dried.

Our oldest son stopped by to pick up the Bosch cordless sander he'd bought with his birthday gift card from us--he gets his packages and mail through us due to odd policies regarding delivery access to his house and driveway on the highway. We fooled with his new tool and my new Milwaukee cordless vac that's now powered by the formidable 8 ah Forge battery that arrived yesterday. He's the one of three still on the Cape and we're pleased to spend time together 2 or 3 times a week.

Anyway, dressed lightly in b-ball shorts, the NeOn UL was a good IWB carry choice today and came in handy a couple times while working on the new window parts.

Magnetic Monday : Spyderco T-Mag from 2007, with carbon fiber scales. This is one of my oddball Spydies, it’s a slip joint with an embedded rare earth magnet to hold the blade open. It’s the first and last time I saw such a magnetic lock in a Spyderco knife, so I guess it’s sort of an experimental thing.

In terms of usage, it’s actually like the UKPK with forefinger positioning in the choil to fully prevent blade closure. The ricasso says “Golden, Colorado USA Rare Earth” 😁
