Elusive Schrades

Here are some Wonda-edges for your perusal, TB! When sharp they help in cutting multi-strand rope i am sure!

Why thank you kindly, Mr. Charlie! It's weird how fanciful the script is on the top two knives. I get the impression that the stamp on mine is far more industrial/military style, almost as if it could have gone on a TL-29. Probably just differences in production "era", but it certainly gets the imagination going. I also have a feeling that "K-Ting Rope" may have been a name for a marque/line, perhaps a cutesy early-mid 20th century way of saying "cutting rope"?

I just so happen to have picked up an 89OT "Blazer" today (an 8OT large stockman with a serrated, extra-long sheepsfoot) as well. :D Pics to come.

Here is my Schrade Cut Co precursor to the 2OT. Not as pretty as yours, Paul!

That one is dang sexy, Phillll !

I just acquired this small Schrade Cut Co 3 & 5/16 inch serpentine Jack. The F & F is fabulous and the walk and talk is near perfect. Topped off with very nicely executed peach seed jigged bone. Lloyd

Nice score, Lloyd! You appreciate the finer things in life!!
:D

Thanks 82brutus and Charlie! Yes, things just seem a whole lot finer with a vintage Schrade folder in hand 😁 Lloyd

I hate to say it but Schrade switching to delrin to replace bone over the years even before the Old Timer and Uncle Henry lines...(thumbs up)smart business move.

Nice Stockman Knives, TsarB! A person could make a collection of Schrade knives with serrated/Wonda Edges!

Here are two all-metal Schrades, from different eras, but likely using the same tooling. The Schrade Cut. Co. has decoratively machined handles, with a space for initials or an inscription. The knife is "two-thick" to borrow a phrase from our Brit Brothers, with a nail file.
The Schrade Walden NY. U.S.A. is "one-thick" with no file, and has deeply-stamped advertising for whisky. Also a bail; the knife is just small enough for a keychain.

Thank you, Charlie. My collection of Schrades is humble at best, but the 89OT was a nice difference from the usual march of 8OTs, 34OTs, 894UHs, etc., and when I found the Rancher I simply had to have it regardless of the pin crack on the mark side. I think it has some of the nicest bone I've seen on any more recent Schrade slippy. Now I just need to figure out how to disassemble the Swinden key knives and pin them back together without making a complete mess.

I "Wonda" (:p) if there's a specific reason the serrated sheepsfoot is a little bit longer than the plain-edge versions on my 8OTs and the Rancher. It's an interesting little quirk I often note when I'm CF&CE the Schrade stockmans I have.

Those bartender's knives are some all-metal beauties! I've gotta imagine you have a cutlery museum at your home the likes of which would choke the Smithsonian with envy. :D

Just found and acquired this EO Schrade Cut 3.375 inch closed Jack. Seems to be in excellent condition with pretty much full blades although sharpened and blades cleaned at some point. Pleased to add it to the collection. Lloyd
