Whether you are just starting out or are an old pro:), this grinding jig will produce better grinds, faster and with more freehand control than anything you have ever tried.

If you would like to see them in operation, look here:

This video shows how to grind a false edge using the jig:

The Bubble jig, by itself, with a set of degree wedges and a basic instruction sheet is $40.00 plus shipping.

The complete grinding system, which includes the Bubble Jig, degree wedges, bevel grinding clamp, allen wrenchs and a basic instruction sheet, is $75.00 plus shipping.

The bevel clamp, made from machine ground 01, is hardened along the griping fingers [60 HRC] to ride along the belt edge, the loop end has been left normalized for full, spring temper, flexibility. It will grip steel stock from under an 1/8 inch to over a 1/4 inch securely.

I am pleased to hear it is working for you.

With a weekends practice grinds improve a great deal, no matter where one is starting from.

Thanks for posting, Fred

how do we know what width metal goes with each wedge?

That is not really the case where a certain degree of angle goes with a specific width of steel.

When you start to grind most any blade you start with the five degree wedge setting and with this set angle you develop the blades edge.
Five degrees is fairly steep and will remove material at the edge only.
Once the edge is at the desired thickness you drop the angle of approach down to one of the lower degree wedges and the grind moves up the blade towards the spine.
Kind of a rule of thumb is the wider the blade being ground the flatter the angle of approach. An inch and a half wide blade is finished off with the 2.5 degree angle. When grinding a more narrow blade, such as a fillet type blade you would only need to go down to the 3.5 degree angle.

I can´t open te video for some reason. Can you e-mail me some pics or anoter link at ivan@ivancampos.net.
I ave a very simple setup I made for my Scandi style blades and am lookin for an uprade.

Can it be used on disc grinder?,Tony

Tony,

I have not tried it on a disc but it can be used on a vertical platen so I figure it can be used on a vertical disc. The disc would have to be reversible, I would think.
