So I bought a budget lockback today. Stopped at tractor supply on the way home from work. They had this Winchester for 22 bucks. Decided to buy it just to see what 22 bucks would get ya, gotta say its actually pretty decent. Fit'n'Finish pretty good overall, even grinds and decently sharp. One cover has a tiny gap along the spine near the bolster. If you grab the blade and try to move it up and down once locked you get a teeny weeny bit of play, you can't even see the movement, just feel a bit of a click. Nothing you'd notice in use. No side play. Everything else is flush and centered. Its Chinese of course, but seems a lot better than some other Winchester branded Chinese stuff I've seen. Its actually thin enough that for me personally I could carry this in a pocket. The leather sheath is ok, but not great. Threw the Buck in for size comparison. I'll carry it some to get an idea of edge holding, but so far I think its pretty good for the money.

Remembered I had this in the hoard somewhere ;)

I really like the full flat grind on those Camillus and Remington clip blades.
r redden r redden thanks for the link, I had done a search for the word "lockback" in thread titles, I must have missed it.I try to avoid creating a new thread if there's one already on a particular subject.
And want to again say thanks to the contributions from everyone!

Here's a tail lock, which is a variation on the back lock, I picked up many years ago. It's got horn covers and is finished wonderfully. The action is as smooth as any knife I've ever owned. I don't know squat about the maker, Post.
