I've been feeling this way about the SR1 tanto scout..... shouldi.....?

Me too. If it was AUS10 and bumped up a few bucks, I'd have bought one. But in 8Cr13MoV I'm less excited about it. Glad it exists, I get the point, etc. -- but I'm not sure it's for me.

The TFF-1 is such an incredible beast of a knife, isn't it? Yours is a gorgeous specimen!

tinfoil hat timmy tinfoil hat timmy asked for an in-hand shot of my Medford TFF-1, and this felt like the natural place for that. I took two, which covers my two most-used grips for this knife. I wear a size L glove.

And for good measure here's a shot from the end of 2019 that helps put this monster knife in context:

That's a great looking Rainmaker, J! When I bought mine I looked at a lot of configurations and seriously considered ordering one built exactly like that. In the end I found that blue sculpted Seabed at KC and pulled the trigger on it.

Speaking of blue, I've had my long blue Andrey Biryukov No. 10 for a couple weeks and have neglected to post it over here until now.

Thanks! I wanted a combination that complimented my Swish (which doesn’t quite qualify for this thread:p) but was still different looking while also keeping in mind the make up of other Olamics which I see in my future (one of which would definitely fit in here...:D)

ETA: I was thinking 4” or larger but afishunter’s post below made me go back and re-read the first page so, here it is.

ChazzyP ChazzyP Is that 3 7/8 inch and larger you specify in post number one, the closed length, or blade length?

I ask because most would consider a Buck 110 Folding Hunter, for example, at 5 inches closed, a "large" folding knife. Yet the blade length is "only" 3 3/4 inches.

Unlike traditionals modern folders are measured by blade length.

But either way I think most would classify the 110 as a large knife.

What he said, and, as I said in the OP, I wouldn't quibble over a mm or two. I had my 110 out the other day and was reminded that it is indeed a big knife.
