Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Happy Father’s Day, Guardians! This is a re-posted photo but I’m sharing again because this is a special time for our whole family: I will be wearing my dad’s old Omega watch to my eldest daughter’s wedding next weekend. She is my first to marry and first granddaughter from both sides so there will be a number of 80 and 70-year olds in the procession! 💍💒👰🏼

Wow, congratulations Dave, what an exciting time :) That's a great pic too
What a rare beauty indeed, Jack! I am trying to decide what knife (or two?) I’ll be slipping into my tuxedo for father of the bride carry. 🤵
Thank you my friend, can't wait to see what you choose :) My best wishes to you and all your family, the happy couple most of all, of course :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is well, and that you had a fine weekend :) I doubt any of us can top DaveHS DaveHS :) I slept well last night, probably assisted by a few glasses of a very nice New Zealand Pinot Noir ;) I have some work to do later, but hopefully I have an easy week ahead - we'll see! :D Hope you all have a good one Guardians :) Starting mine with one of Eric's Lambs, and a fine example of Jeremy's leatherwork :)

Lovely burl on that one 👍

Thank you all, especially Jack Black Jack Black SteveC SteveC and Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 for the kind wishes.

In another fun bit of coincidental good timing for Father’s Day week, I had a feature story published in our slick city monthly magazine. This piece is about local fly fishing and not knife collecting but the editor who knows me too well (we have known each other since grade school) did mention my growing knife collection in his note to start the June issue, so now I’m in trouble with the fair lady for excess in both categories. This means I’ll be buying her more expensive shoes in the near future!

Hope you enjoy: https://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-magazine/2025/june/meet-the-compleat-dallas-angler/

Dave I hope all had a great time at the wedding. I read your article with interest. It looks like a hobby I could get drawn into. If I did I think I would be interested in making flies. I like the idea of lollygagging by a stream. Maybe it’s the lollygagging that calls me…

Bob I hope the keys turn up. Thanks for the laugh. I like the Senator Rosecraft.

I got a walk in this morning before the lollygagging takes over.

Thanks Steve, just ordered new set of keys just in case.😟

Mr.Oates definitely knew how to create a fine lamb.😍

Good idea buddy and thanks !

Thanks Steve, I think I've loved the look of every Lambsfoot Eric has made :)

What a fascinating read Dave, thank you for sharing it with us :) My first rod was split-cane, but my first fly-fishing rod was SOLID fibre-glass, which was around before hollow glass here, and a bit cheaper I think. Fibre glass was considered the height of modernity in the early 70's :D You are having a good week my friend :)
I would love to post some different knives, but my wife "hid" my knife cabinet keys in our packing!!! The search goes on.

Wonderful photo Kurt :) I used to make pocket-money tying trout flies as a youngster. Possibly the only artistic thing I've ever done, and sadly I don't have a single one, my girlfriends had some of them, sometimes as earrings, and my dad pinched my fishing tackle many years ago 🤨 Enjoy your lollygaggin' buddy
Thank you, Kurt! Lollygagging in the outdoors is what it’s all about. 🎣
Definitely :) When I was young, I thought it was all about catching big fish. When I look back, I realise that was the least of it :)
Glad you have extra keys inbound, Bob! With apologies, as I dig through my knife boxes for what to carry for my daughter’s wedding weekend, it sure is nice to have the waynorth waynorth lamb back in my hand 🐑View attachment 2902656
That definitely deserves some consideration I reckon Dave! 😁👍
Howdy Guardians! Happy trails 🤠

May you have a good one Dave :)

I hope everyone is having a good day :) I went out early, picked up some groceries, forgot half of what I meant top buy, got a haircut, and headed home for lunch. I got a bit of work done this afternoon, which left time for a nap ;) I have an early start tomorrow, as I have some work in Sheffield. Nothing to get excited about unfortunately, as it's on the Leeds side of Sheffield, and I won't even get a chance to go into the centre. I reckon I'm due a proper trip over at some point ;) I'll be carrying L'Ariete :)
