.... a good (thrift/yard sale) day for vintage Pittsburgh steel....
a Klein & Logan 8 lb. double faced blacksmith sledge ($4).... and,
an Iron City 6 lb. striking sledge ($5). Both foundry's have great
steel production history.
Also, picked up older True Temper "Premium" cultivator and hoe ($0.99 ea.).

That's interesting. I wasn't aware of the association between Klein-Logan and Woodings Verona...
I did a little more research and found that Klein-Logan was bought out by Woodings-Verona in 1967.
...I was unaware of the 67' buyout.
Fortuitous that it now gives a date range for the sledge. Another assumption...
this may be a transition tool of the buyout...
Somebody here did some earlier research and found that Klein-Logan was bought out by Woodings-Verona in 1967.
I picked up a unused true temper Pulanski. has the oval kelly the worlds finest stamping also has inspector stamp M F S in two spots. It is painted black with some rust starting. the haft is smooth and tight.
When was this made and what is it worth? I want to put it to work soon!
It followed me home...And a lucky thing it was too,i need one...Looks nasty and rough...must be like they say on ebay-"blacksmith-made"......
