jungle boots?

I just received a pair of Altama jungle boots( http://altama.com/products/8852-olive-drab-jungle-vulcanized-boot ) yesterday. I ordered them direct from Altama. Both outsoles are completely separated from the midsole. :thumbdn: I wish the official issue boots came in my size, because I doubt that this would happen.

The only model that comes in my bigfoot size is the model in the link above. Sucks for me. :grumpy: I guess the only time the official issue boots will be available for me is if the US goes to war in a tropical zone...

^ good looking boot :) I've had good luck w/ Danner boots, first I've seen of these though. They have drain holes and are specifically made for hot weather- little on the pricey side

I've been happy with my Altamas. They are my kayak and general light use boots. Great for hiking.

When I worked at the ranch I liked more protection from cactus and mesquite thorns and switched over to an all leather boot. Heaven forbid I watch where I step.

I have a pair of Danner boots that my employer paid for many years ago. They are still in great shape and have served me well. Go with them and you won't be disappointed.
