Charlie,
One of my best patterns (Remington muskrat) came to me that way! ;)

Ken,
thank you for the pictures. It's a very interesting thing to see. Not that there was a lack in this thread

Finished up #1. Very happy with the outcome. The stag choice was based on a few factors. One was that the stag was specified to be dark/dark black potassium permanganate dyed, and the other was that many of these large working knives featured stag with longitudinal crevices. The bar shield was scaled down a bit from the vintage examples that I had on hand.

Looking mighty fine Ken!! Like New Old Stock!!
Maybe 100 years old!! The shield is just right, and the stag looks like my old Blackened Stag Empires!

WOW Ken - simply fantastic work!!!

I would bet Lyle just ran to the bathroom. :D oops . . . sorry . . . I will be right back! :D

Awesome knife Ken. Too bad it will likely never see a farm or be used for that matter. Really wonderful piece of history.

I knew it would be a workable piece of art,I had no doubts. As I've said before,Ken's knives look like they were plucked out of an old catalog.

You got a beauty Charlie, that stag is hafted very nicely,it pushes the bolsters back. Old world quality.

Ken,I hope you found it a very satisfying accomplishment.I know those grinds on the pruner are tough. Thanks

Beautiful! All the craggy goodness, without being too thick.

Ken that turned out really well. I wondered how the dark stag and shield would turn out. Well, they turned out quite nicely! I am sure Charlie will be pleased.:thumbup:
