KW Exclusive Military CF/Ti S90V + CQI Improvements

Then I'll go with your Swag although 8 AM CST is 9 AM in your neck of the woods which makes things easier for you!

8:00 AM CST is 6:00 AM Cali time when Casino is normally drowned in his beauty sleep! With only 1200 units seemingly on hand and gauging by the mostly anticipatory response on here with most in favor of jumping on that train, I anticipate for this CQI (whatever this means, just using it to sound cool like the rest of you, TBT :) ) to be also popular enough with the other Spydie Nation dwellers to merit an early wake up alarm call. What thinks the rest of you pirates?

I don't think it will sell out quickly.

Eh, gonna set the alarm clock for 5:30. Nothing like spending $$$ before some major jolt of coffee and the lingering remnants of morning breath. I know, YIKES :p

^^^ You really think so? I'll be really surprised if they stick around over a year, but then again I am in no way a sprint run Spydie Millie expert or connoisseur! Johnny-come-lately is a much more apt description!

It'll take a year or so. I'm basing that on the 1,200 pieces run and $279.95 price. Additionally, the KW-exclusive Military CTS-204P with Green G-10 (also 1,200 pieces run) which started selling in May 2016 for $199.95 is still available at KnifeWorks.

^^^ OK then, I may just order than when I wake up Cali time but still that same day :)

I think $280 is a very reasonable price for this Military titanium frame lock with CF & S90V considering a Military all titanium frame lock with S30V is $240.

RamZar , what are your thoughts on KW limiting it to one or two per customer?

I'm fine with buying just two. But one would be less than ideal.

With 1,200 pieces these will be around for a year or more.

The other KW exclusive Military CTS-204P with Green G-10 started selling in May 2016 and it's still available.

We'll see. IIRC, the earlier version with M4 and G10 sold out instantly. This one may or may not be as popular. CF will be a plus. CPM-M4 was a very attractive development for the Military back when this was introduced, since I think there had been no non-stainless versions of the Military before that knife was offered. I love Spyderco's S90V but with all the alternatives that have been offered in recent years S90V may not be compelling. It will be interesting to see how this one sells.

I have "KW Military" marked on my calendar :D I see it every time I go to the fridge, which is often...

This is the basis for my guess, I remember them selling out very quickly. We'll just have to see if folks are on board with the s90v, I know I definitely am! With the new CQI stop pin, I think it's going to be even greater!

The older I get, the more I like stainless. I don't mind maintaining carbon/tool steels, but I have other things I'd rather be doing. I guess I just prefer my folders to be carefree. S90V fits the bill.

I don't see it saying a limit of 1-2 per order on either the website or in the email announcement of yesterday.

Even if there was a limit you could just do single orders over a few days.

The KW-exclusive Military from 2010 with M4, titanium frame lock and G-10 was only 500 pieces (compared to 1,200 pieces for the new one). Also, MSRP was $300 compared to $400 for the new one.

What works against Military Sprint Runs and Dealer Exclusives is that you can get the production model S110V/G-10 for $176.97.

Additionally, look at all the Military that came out the past year since May 2016:
  1. Military CTS-204P Green G-10 KnifeWorks
  2. Military 52100 CF Sprint
  3. Military CPM-S110V Blue G-10
  4. Military CPM-M4 Natural G-10 BladeHQ
  5. Military CPM-S90V CF TI R.I.L. Lock KnifeWorks

1200 is not a small number nor is $280. These facts together with many variants of Military in the market (discontinued or still running), make it hard for me to believe that this s90/ti/cf millie will be sold out soon. My plan is to hold on for a while and see some first hand reviews on it before pullibg the trigger.

I feel that $280 is a more than reasonable price for this new Military. CF , Ti and S90V plus it's a dealer exclusive limited to 120o pieces. Great deal.

The Fluted Ti Military is a couple bucks MORE. And has "just" S30V. I realize the machine work on the Ti is expensive. But I'd rather have the CF/Ti combo.

Also , I'm not saying the blue/purple G10 is my favorite color but I'm interested in checking out the S110V blade of that model.

And I have to say that the dark green G10/204P Military wins hands down in the looks department. It's beautiful. I find it better looking than even the Fluted Ti. This new CF/Ti/S90V could , however , give it a run for it's money. Time will tell.

I'm interested in this one as well, but the green 204P is my favorite so far...I like the blade and color combo.
