Mods, Regrinds, Cerakote, and Sharpening

Can you remove serrated edges and turn a knife into a plane edge ? Thanks

Sure can... I can simply grind them off and you will have a recurve that is thicker than the rest of your blade, or I can do it in conjunction w/ a regrind and either leave a recurve or actually convert it to have the recurve removed and it be a regular grind. The removal of serrations w/ the recurve and regrind would be similar to this (sorry for the poor image quality!):

Thanks Josh,
I'll get some in the mail tomorrow for you.
Terry

Sounds great Terry I appreciate it!

Thanks Josh, I'm a very satisfied customer!

Did your GEC make it back in?

Ill have at least 5 coming to you via USPS tomorrow Josh. I want them sharp as possible without mirroring. What you described to Terry sounds perfect. My 3 TDI's and BM D2 710 and M390 755 will be there in a couple of days. As for my knives you have for cerakote dude I dont care if I have to wait until September I just want the cerakote done as well as possible no rush. Am gonna go to your site and fill out your form now.

I'll get them done I promise! lol. I got the wiring mostly done and most of the insulation put up already, hoping to have my inspection this week.

Josh what is that advantage of a secondary or "back" bevel?

The advantage is two fold:

1. It increases cutting ability because you are lowering angle so it won't wedge as much. Think of a toothpick or a pencil, sharpened to the same degrees on the end.... which one will pierce better? The toothpick because it's thinner. This is what a regrind or a back-bevel does for you.
2. It makes it easier to sharpen simply by adding a micro bevel. You just slightly increase angle from the back bevel angle and micro bevel.

Thanks bud!

Sorry I've been out of touch, brother. Sent you a PM about some work I'd like to consider getting done.

Awesome work Josh. Love it.

Before. I had already thinned out the edge to roughly 17 dps but didn't like how my tip came out all that much. It was sharp but it wasn't pretty.:grumpy:

Then I saw what Josh had done on a SnG-T and I really liked it so off it went.

You are most welcome Greg! Glad you like it and yes, I think you have a winner there!

Here is a ZT 0301 I had already reground but my customer wanted it in a tanto configuration. Also modded the swedge and added a sharpening choil to clean things up. Turned out pretty sweet =)

Hi Josh,
Just got my sharpened knives back from you today.
Excellent. When I've bought knives recently and was disappointed in the "factory sharp" job, THIS is was what I was hoping for.
Job well done. Highly recommended.
I'll be back.

Awesome Terry glad I could help! You should have to be back for a while since you can now maintain them pretty easily on the sharpmaker since I reprofiled them for ya ;)

PM's are responded to thanks guys! I try to get to them within 1 hr on business days =)

Just in... my new regrind logo. I will be etching these into blades I have reground from now on for free if requested!

Just emailed you back; sorry for the confusion.

No problem! Thanks =)

WOW!! Thank you, Josh. Excellent edge on the Seb. 25 that I sent you! Thanks for straightening it out for me. Hair popping sharp. If anyone is on the fence about sending your knife in to get it sharpened, re-profiled or whatever he does that you need, do it. You will most assuredly be impressed.

Tim
