Mods, Regrinds, Cerakote, and Sharpening

Josh! I've got a satin Spydero Manix that I want to send to you soon.

Do you Cerakote hardware as well? I want everything blacked out. Let me know, brother!

Josh,
Thanks for the good words brother.
Heads up.
Tonight I sent two guys your way by email or PM. They needed some work done that is rather blade specific and I would rather see you do it for them.
Matt

Awesome send it my way! Yes, I do Cerakote hardware (scales, pocket clips, spacers, etc). Unfortunately I am in a shop transition at this point and won't be back up and running cerakoting until about 3-4 weeks! I can keep you posted though...

Sounds excellent, Josh! We can both keep in touch and you take your time switching shops.

Just got the Bradshaws back. Both are screaming sharp . . . and the one you reground is sharper than any of my Ban Tangs (which, up until now, were the sharpest knives I owned). Highest recommendation for this service.

Thanks Clint! Glad they meet your expectations!! Keep in mind the one I reground is strictly for slicing as I went very thin per your request... enjoy!!!

Hey Josh its Bryan from Va. Love the work you did on my Otanashi and Ontario! My question now is I have 3 Kabars Id like to send this time unfortunately the edges have been kinda screwed up by bad sharpening. I would just be wanting a very keen working edge, non mirrored, all finished on the Wicked Edge at an angle I can touch up on my Sharpmaker or strops. BUT I would also want to Cerakote all 3 of them as well. Can I just sort the details and just go ahead and send them to you in a day or so? I do not mind the wait for the Cerakote. As long as they come back good Ill send more for the same treatments.

Want to also send my ZT0801 and full sized tanto tip Griptillian both for a full mirrored wicked edge. Dont need a regrind on them just whatever gives them a very keen sharpness that I can once again touch up on my strops or ultra find sharpmaker stones. The heaviest cutting they would see would be thick plastic zip ties and up to half inch hemp rope.

The Kabars are all serrated (partly)and again have bad/rough edges and poorly sharpened serrations from another "sharpening service" I sent them to. They are the Kabar D2 Extreme Fighter, the 1245 8+ inch tanto and the 5 and one half inch mini version of the 1245. email ReiseReise74@yahoo.com or hit me back here man.

Hey Bryan! Sure man you can send them my way I'll get them fixed up! As long as you are good w/ the wait on the cerakote... You know the drill w/ shipping to me!

Thanks for the reply Josh all 5 knives will ship USPS flat rate box tomorrow. The two tanto Kabars would be getting matching H190Q Armor Black from tip to pommel. Not sure what to throw on the D2 yet will let you know. Also do you cerakote before or after you sharpen? Will throw these details in your REK email as well thanks

Here is one of several steak knives that I finished up today. It was interesting that it looked like there was a flat spot in some of the serrations that looked as if it had never been sharpened! Got 'em razor sharp again!:D

I sent Josh two of my knives the other week as I was going out of town, one was a Fremont Jack with Ivory scales and the other a leek with a composite blade. Josh finished the fremont with a mirror edge and the leek on the wicked edge, all I can say about both knives now is WOW. If you want your knives sharpened right Josh is the man and his communication before, during and after the service is flawless. As I told Josh he has earned all future business of mine based on the quality of the job and the flawless customer experience he provided. Don't take a chance with your knife go with a sure thing go with Razor Edge Knives.........thanks again Josh

Hey Josh just sent 3 knives via USPS 2 day ZT0801,0550 and a tanto mini Grip all 3 for sharpen and mirror polish on the Wicked Edge. I am still learning the cerakote colors at the moment had a question are you able to do all the crazy patterns etc that are on the cerakote (knives gallery) site? I know you said you avoid pink and purple which is fine, am trying to find images for cerakoted Kabars as once I can find some more details on things say like smooth texture coat vs rough and grippy I will be sending you my 5 mis-edged Kabars to be corrected and cerakoted. When will your next batch be getting sprayed? Would like to have my details down by then and have them in that batch. Thanks man

Awesome man I will be on the look out! Turn around time currently is 1-2 business days. I may not be able to do all of the patterns, but I can get close!

I will be really hitting the cerakote market hard w/ super sweet patterns and restorations in the near future after I get into my new shop, so stay tuned here! I sent you an email w/ a couple pics of past work...I am also playing around w/ textured cerakote but have not reached any conclusions at this point yet. I hope to offer different grades of texture in the future. Next batch will be in about 3-4 weeks. Thanks!!

Scratch the Cerakote on the Manix, Josh. I just saw your acid etches and they look amazing! I love the blackwash type look you got going with that ZT 0620! How much to etch the blade, liners and pocket clip?

Hehe, well all steel doesn't take an etch that good! I will just have to give it a shot and see... pm is inbound!

I did two manix knives one on my first page of work. Im sure you will pull if off fine. I did a plain acid etch with no stone wash. But it did not get dark. Maybe a dark grey like a blasted titanium.
Good luck and cant wait to see.

Thanks Matt! We shall see! I'm working on my own blackwash for Ti :D so maybe it would carry over if the etch failed.

Josh - got a TFS Beast in today and it will be headed to you for sharpening at some point. The factory edge is a bit disappointing after using the Sebenza you sharpened for me. I want to carry it for a week or so first :D
