NOTABLE PAIRS : Only traditionals

Great Pair  That Red Bone is dead on.

I like to think the new vs. old Case red bone isn't a matter of better or worse, just different. I've been excited about that big Barlow since I closed the deal for it and that excitement wasn't dampened one bit when I received the big fella.

My Knife Knuttery knows no limits, though, because I'm already on the hunt for a matching full-size soddie with CV blade. :o

What a Great Thread and Thank you 1 and all for sharing your amazing collection of Knives and the Photo's are amazing,

Matching Pair of 1184 Frame Ka-Bar's 1970's with Pearl and Pre-Ban Ivory

Fixed Blade not a pair but thought all might like to see the Late Hank Reinhart Kukri's done by Blackjack in the 1990's, Satin, Bead Blast and the Sterile epoxy Version

It's good to know I'm not the only Jim Morrison fan around here. But they did do a song about us knife knuts. (When Your Strange} :D
That 47 is gorgeous.

Great, thanks!
Well, now that You say it...:D:thumbup:

Those Ka-Bars are fantastic, as are the other folding hunters surrounding them. I take it you like that pattern. :D Great kukris, too!

The first traditional pocketknife I added once re-introduced to something other than SAKs, at bottom, and a recent, surprise delight from mrknife and 1066vik (collateral, collaborative generosity from the giveaway/support thread for BigBiscuit), Case Mini Copperlocks:

Congrats on a couple of classic copperlocks, Sarah!:thumbup:

I paired up the old Case red bone earlier in the thread, now I'll take a crack at the newer version.

...
The newer Case red bone has its own appeal, don't you think?
...
You can take pride in that peerless pairing, TB!:cool: (I have to admit that particular color is not MY cup of tea, but it's certainly uniformly applied on your knives!)

Lots of pleasing pairs from Canal Street, bozack!

Great pairs around,
thank You 5K Qs for linking me here (and glad You like The doors too:))!

I posted the Ebony Cap Lifters already in another thread two days ago,
the picture of the Rosewoods (Che chen and East Indian) is new.

Glad you found your way here, nifebrite! Both of the pairs you posted are striking, but I'll especially tip my cap to the ebony cap lifters!
(As for The Doors, I don't listen to much of my old music anymore (not sure why not ), but I'll frequently sing to my wife, "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel!" when she's planning to drive somewhere. I think that's from "Roadhouse" on the "LA Woman" album, right?)

:D:D Good one, Randy! I never cared much for Jim Morrison the man (or Lizard King, or whatever ), but I sure enjoyed much of the band's music!

That's a princely pair of perfect pen patterns, Jeff!:thumbup:

Thank You, 5K Qs!
(The Doors seem to fit for many situations in life..;):).
Roadhouse was released one year earlier, on the Morrison Hotel - great Rhythm'n Blues!)

Nice ebonies, rockgolfer! Gunstockjack, the colors on these pairs are just amazing!

Thanks GT, they both get a lot of pocket time for sure

A pair of very different wharnies. The houndstooth is a perfect all around blade, for my use anyways. Thin at the edge but has just the right taper and blade stock to still have plenty of strength to whittle some wood or tear down some of that real thick corrugated cardboard. In contrast, the presidential wharnies is super thin and the blade can flex slightly if you push on it. Clam shells and paper/tape stand no chance! That Spear blade can handle anything a folder should. Might have to keep this pair in the pocket for awhile ;)

This Notable Pair share a feature I particularly admire: wraparound springs. Also found on CASE Swayback Jacks and Teardrop Jacks and on the Forum Knife 13 from GEC.

Left Tidioute Eureka Jack in Green Bone and T.W. Ablett Pruner in Stag.

This duo has been living in my knapsack now for quite some time.

The Rough with the Smooth: GEC Sambar Stag 83 lockback and Bark River Pro-Scalpel in Nat Micarta

Thanks:thumbup:

bozack That CS Pinch is exactly what I'm currently looking for :D Always nice to have something to be after... Make a grand Notable with my HMT;)

Regards, Will
