Some of the story of cover flashlight, the "Brute", a neat 7aa nightstick flashlight -

I do remember they had a couple of the smaller Streamlights back then in black or orange, but they only lasted one or two catalogs.

I don't remember the Douk-Douks, but they did also sell Cornet "Corse" ring-pull folder that was right about the same size as the Kudu now. Looked like this, but was etched Cold Steel Special Projects on the blade -

The etch wasn't very strong though, and pretty much disappears with any use.

Awesome information, thank you! I was particularly amazed by that CPF link, which was a much more recent thread than I would've imagined. I never would have guessed that a Cold Steel flashlight (which I clearly missed the introduction of--apparently I wasn't on Cold Steel's mailing list yet in 1992 and missed some cool stuff!) would make such an impression that the flashlight buffs would remember it three decades later. Lynn really did spread a broad net with his company, especially via Special Projects.
