"Old Knives"

quick question for y'all, what is the knife that seems to be the inspiration for the GEC 77 washington jack? Some one shared it in somewhere, and it has slipped my mind. is it by schrade?

Here you go Jack. It could be argued that the earlier Schrade Cut Co versions were the true inspiration, you would have to ask Charlie, I know he has some beauties.

All the old knives had 2 blades (a pen secondary), Jack, so I stuck with the tradition on the Washingtons - all two blades!

always one for tradition Charlie! currently watching back to the future III, just imagine if I had access to a delorean with a flux capacitor! many knife models may have one main blade! :D

I stand corrected on the source of origin of Charlie's Washington, kinda close but not as they say  But Oh man I am so glad that Charlie had in fact been the Father of thought and produced such Beautiful Knives as the Washington's!

( I witnessed Jack who bought a two bladed knife the other day - he showed a weakness of his stance!)

Here's a Challenge Jack that sweeps in so so close....

Love that Challenge Duncan, great knife.

Thank you Augie kind Sir yeah the knife is actually very nice, the photo does it no justice - although - as you can see it has Sharpening marks! Still the etch is relatively strong as is everything in that Knife!

Great 2OTs, Augie, Charlie and Duncan!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I think the closest I will every come to owning one is the Charlie Washington Jack SFO I have.
Also really like that Challenge, Duncan!

This Northfield is why I love collecting vintage knives, never know what you will find. Bought it last week and when I received it I did a light cleaning, I have a method that removes dirt and grime but does not damage the patina, I have had etches appear that were not there. That was the case with this Northfield, I knew about the light UNXLD etch but what appeared with the light cleaning was a "Northfield Saber Blade" etch, for me it puts this already rare 3 1/2" coke bottle jack way over the top.
This is my first Northfield, have been trying to land one for years but always miss out, it was worth the wait.
