Pictures here! On the Bench

Just picked this up today- marble is a resource available here on Vancouver Island, and there's a business up the road who mines and processes it. I was in need of a bigger layout plate than the one I have now, which is grade B granite- graded granite plates are mucho dinero, and all the more so the bigger they are. This beautiful marble slab was under 200 bucks and they cut it to the dimensions I wanted.

It's awesome to patronize a local business that specializes in processing local resources👍

I've been diligently tending to the handle for Vik's Colibri the past couple days, (among other things) and things are looking good.

I haven't ever done a handle like this before and just thinking about it was daunting. So, I just started getting after it and here's where she's at;

While I've done a good handful of knives using a ferrule, this is the first framed handle one. This approach simplifies some things while complicating others- such is life!

The frame and ferrule are 6Al4V titanium, and the pin too.
