Bad Patriot Leather

Anybody order a sheath from Patriot Leather and not receive it? Long story short I ordered one late December 2019, for my Bravo Squad Leader. Received one early March, it was made for knife much much larger. I contacted them and was told to return it, which I promptly did on my dime on March 3. They haven’t returned my emails since then. I have messaged them through their website, emailed them, and messaged them through Instagram. No response. I even checked my junk mail. I would be satisfied with a simple “we’re working on it, don’t bother me “ message. But nothing. Their website says all orders from March have been shipped, and their Instagram is active. So this leads me to believe he is intentionally ignoring my messages.

It’s been 5 months since my original order. And I know this is my first post, but I did register with this forum in 2014. I didn’t register with this forum 6 years ago to try to burn someone today. I am hoping he will see this and contact me.

UPDATE:
After filing a claim through Paypal (6-7-2020) I received a full refund on 6-10-2020 (after paypal decided in my favor). Although I did lose the $9.60 that I spent to send the sheath back, I consider this a win and things squared away. I have no hard feelings towards PL and wish to move past this.

I have a bit of a storied past with this guy so for the sake of remaining both civil and as neutral as possible, I will only add a couple of matter-of-fact statements:

1- PL is active on the Big Auction Site and you can Google his trade name + that auction site's to find his store on there. Although he seems to be active there, I looked up his feedback history and he's gained a few negative comments in the past year for the same way which you claim to have been treated by PL.

Maybe you can send a question through that site and see if he responds. You have no recourse there if you have not purchased through there but can still send a question. That's all.

2- There is at least one other thread relating to PL in this GBU section. If you had paid via PayPal, used G&S as a method of payment and the transaction is within 180 days, you may have some recourse by contacting PP.

I'll reserve my negative "story" of my interaction with PL until the OP shows back up and it's needed.

Maybe he got it resolved through a quick refund and felt the need to just move on.
 
UPDATE: There is no update. I am still being ghosted by Patriot Leather Co. Paypal has a 180 day refund policy so I can't refute it. I was hoping he would see this and respond to my messages.

I would give a shot messaging through eBay, it can't hurt

180 days is 6 months...if you purchased late December, as stated in your initial post, time is running out. Do it now! Explain in your claim that you returned the unsuitable product after discussing with the seller, and that you have received neither a refund or replacement. Find and include the tracking number.
If you paid via credit card, you still have that option, as well
 
Hate this happened to you. Please keep us appraised of the situation. Would be nice if PL were to comment here, but seems unlikely. I have always been very careful when selecting leather makers. I always try and deal with ones I know or are recommended by others.
 
Damn another local scumbag. That’s to bad. But being he’s from Woolley does not surprise me one bit!!! Hope you are made whole OP.
 
A. There are two sides to every story, and unless you are the OP it is actually not your business regardless of how much time you like to spend trolling this sub forum.

B. OP refund has been approved. I escalated the dispute to a claim so the OP could receive it faster. FYI- The ability to simply refund mobile payments expires after 90 days.

C. Little known fact, The BBB is not a .gov agency. They are a pay to play private entity. I see no reason to pay $550 a year to, quite literally, buy a rating. I get one or two calls a month from the local branch looking to 'help' us out. For a fee. Thanks, no.

D. Murphjd25 - Discriminatory posts have no place here, or anywhere else. It's 2020, take your elitist mentality and GFY.

E. Bladeforums is a great place but I seldom stop by anymore. For reasons of my own this will in fact be my last post here.

I made a claim on Paypal this Sunday (6-7-2020). PL responded that I would receive a refund once the sheath was returned. I uploaded a copy of the receipt with the tracking number to paypal showing that the sheath had been returned March 5, 2020. As of today the case is still "Under Review" and I have NOT received any refund. I will update if and when that happens.

I don't know what other side of the story there is, but these are the facts:

I paid for a sheath late December 2019. I received a completely wrong one March 2nd. I contacted PL saying I would return it and asking if they could make a correct sized sheath. PL said return it and they would make a new sheath. I paid for shipping and returned it March 3. It arrived March 5. A few weeks later I emailed PL asking for an update. No response. After that every few weeks I emailed PL asking for an update, and I never received a response. I also tried messaging them on Instagram, Ebay and through their website. No response. Keeping in mind their website is updated regularly and so is their Instagram. I received no response from PL from March 3 through June 7 (when I filed a claim through Paypal). And June 7 they responded through Paypal. I don't think I was being unreasonable to ask for an update on a sheath I ordered 5 months ago. At this point in time I am out the money I paid for the sheath as well as the money I paid for shipping the sheath back.

I would love to hear the other side of the story. Maybe I did something wrong without realizing it.

A. There are two sides to every story, and the business of the GBU forum is to do the best we can to determine the facts, if that is possible. This benefits all who come here, members or not.

B. It is well known that the BBB is not a governmental agency. It is less well known that the vast majority of the businesses that BBB rates are not members of the BBB (AKA "Accredited") and, accordingly pay nothing to be rated. Here is one example.

Many others with excellent ratings but who do not pay to be "Accredited" are easy to find.

The accuracy and value of a BBB rating is subject to dispute.

The rating itself is a matter of fact. All here are free to make up their own minds.

C. Bladeforums is a great place, but sometimes addition is by subtraction.

OP, you did not do anything wrong. If you do not get your refund to your satisfaction shortly and since this guy PL does not seem to value his participation in here, perhaps the newly anointed SuperMod KingMC KingMC would like to review this particular case to hone certain SuperModsy skills.

So far you have not done anything wrong based on what I see in this thread thus far, the onus is on S Skystorm to make things right at this point.
