My oldest boys last race was in 2016. He also took 2nd in the spec race and 3rd in the no holds barred. Same car both races, we just added weight for the second race. All the other parents were like, "Well sure, his dad is in construction." I'm an electrician, there is nothing electrical on it. He worked really hard on that car. It bothered me because they weren't giving him the credit he was due.image.jpeg

Haters gonna hate.

The dads definitely play a role in the race here. This is Mooresville NC. The "team" who won was a kid from a family that always does really well and frequently wins. Their dad is a Roush Yates guy (Nascar engineer) and they have some serious skill. We did pretty well too and my son (and I) put a ridiculous amount of effort into it. I'd go into detail but it would be a lot to write.

Our average time on six runs was 2.626 seconds, the wining time was 2.609, so we were off by 17 thousandths of a second. Third place miss first by 49 thousandths. It's a tight race...

I shot one of his runs on my phone:

^ he was killin it. He won every race he was in, but he never ran against the kid who won. It's based on time.

The top pic is a little blurry. I can't tell, is the car "field grade" or did you guys buff out the machine marks?

lol...

Field grade, but not tumbled, we left it with a belt satin finish.

We (wisely) didn't paint it. It was too cold and wet from all the snow, a lot of kids had sticky paint. Sticky paint = extra drag if the wheel hub bumps. Bare wood with graphite rubbed into it is actually a pretty decent low-load bearing material.

I mailed off my Zombie BC and LC to a buddy in Indiana this afternoon. He's a badass with Kydex, and is willing to work on a custom set of sheaths for me. I'm pretty excited 'bout it.

On a different note, Mr. Grog himself is also working on a pair of leather pants for the choppers. If the progress pics he's been sending me are any indication, they will be pretty damn amazing. The man is a master with leather.

Since I have no intention of ever selling either of these blades, I am looking forward to have a few custom sheath options for each.

Can't wait to see pics. This is such an epic pair.

I noticed a lot of aerodynamic contouring on his car, looked very efficient and pretty damn badass

^ the production Behemoth will be a very nice debut for Blade 2018 ;)

Most people will NOT read all the verbiage if you post and unlock the BC preorder thread simultaneously at 5:00 PM Eastern on 12/29. It will be a better idea to list it locked just like the SALE! threads to give folks a chance to read thoroughly through. I think that if you leave it open for a few days, you will get close to 100 orders but as I sit now, I'm betting on closer to 75. I think if you even state that folks toward the bottom of that PO list may not see their BCs shipped before Christmas 2018 or beyond, that will not deter the CPK diehards. You guys will deservedly do quite well on that PO

I was browsing some old threads and dang Mat, you pretty much nailed this one on the head! With my rudimentary quick count, I see roughly 91 BC pre-orders. The Carothers mills are gonna be working overtime to crank these things out.

So that you'd know, I've never achieved better than getting 2 numbers correctly out of the winning 7 (or is it 6?) whenever I played the real Lotto :D

OK, we'll stick to CPK...what's Natahan gonna offer for his next Fun Friday Sale? o_O

Something which would normally be destined for the creek monster but after copious consumption of beer, Nathan gets clarity of thought to throw us a bone instead!

Could be an EDC2 with Mark's funky hollow grind or could be a zombified HDFK.

I am betting on a Zombified MC:eek:

That could be a first because as long as I've been on here, I haven't seen Nathan doing a "fun & funky" one-off iteration of any one of his patterns, before that pattern makes its official debut whether as a prototype or as a full on production model. I think that the only exception in years past may've just been Bob's CPK-Dagger!
