Random Thought Thread

Some people like coated Blades and some don't! Some people like Res-C, and some people don't! That's why there are so many options available from skilled knife-makers! The only regret I Have is that I didn't get 1 more of those damned CAROTHERS HDFK's! Oh well, "Live and Learn"

Tommy, can always try your fortunes when the Fridays sales come upon to buy more HDFKs.

I hear ya Bacon, there was a time I would have gotten them both, let me know how they compare (I would think very favorably) Both should provide the user with a great tool:thumbsup:;)

I have to wait and see how much I like it first Casino! Remember however I have hired this guyo_O

I'll proxy for your old and slow arse after I'm done doing so for Brian, Justin and Grog. Of course, you'll move up the ladder as and when these aforementioned gents land their own. I'm just fine with my two preorders unless there will be a 4V one at some future point.

I think there is varying porosity with regards to canvas micarta depending on manufacturer. All are not created equal.

And CPKs fasteners are secured with loctite. They wont come out randomly requiring you carry a tool in SHTF.

...there was a time I would have gotten them both...
Same here. I even posted in the DS thread that I was in. But in the end, I stayed out. I need to shore up my selection of kitchen knives first and foremost. Since they are displayed in the open on a magnetic block, I am leaning towards the Saji Aogami Super Custom series...

I just have to say; CPK handles have never come loose on me, no matter what I do with/to them

I'll make it clear that they never have for me either. I was just saying that screws can also unSCREW....that was the only, very minor point i was making

with every fastener, there is the potential for unfastening

From the NYT article on August 14th 1932:

"The eclipse of Aug. 31, 1932, at which the chances of clear weather are about even, furnishes the last promising opportunity until Aug. 21, 2017, for American astronomers to gather the vital scientific information offered by a total eclipse, Dr. S.A. Mitchell, director of the Leander McCormick Observatory of the University of Virginia, has declared in his study of solar physics during the past decade, just published by the Columbia University Press."

#science
