This topic has been discussed and debated ad nauseam mostly in the general and the GBU sections and beaten to death! Personally, I’m against the practice because I prefer points of reference in a community emphasized and member driven forum but the majority consensus or at least that of the-powers-that-be has been tolerant of this practice primarily predicted on the notion that it’s ultimately a private business between two private parties. Shrugs.

ETA: when I was very new, I also did this just because I had thought that them were the rules and that all the cool kids did it that way!
 
I always appreciated having previous FS threads retain the price for reference. As a member of another forum for flashlights, this practice is actually enforced so as to educate others as to why there is such a high asking price for a specific piece and not another. Upon first joining the CPK squad, I reached out to a knowledgeable few to inquire about pricing of certain pieces, which always felt a bit of a bother. To cold message another just to ask for pricing of pieces tends to leave me a bit embarrassed. Regardless, I am happy to now know that leaving the price of an item after it has sold is a custom rather than a rule.
 
it's horrendous, man. A.J.'s mom and little sister came by around noon to drop off a poster, there was nothing to say but hugs. At that time there was still a glimmer of hope they'd be found ok, but it was a weak glimmer at best. Fucking heart breaking, it was a terrible day
