Very nice. 👍 I been thinking of getting one for the "historical" value. (it is an old pattern). Your review is making it more difficult to resist postponing something I "need" more ...
Thanks. :) Pretty cool knife, and there are options for the handle material besides the white smooth bone I have: stag bone, "black stag" bone, "imitation stag" (kind of Staglon-ish?).

When, oh when, is Rough Ryder gonna come out with a lambsfoot!? They could sell a decent sized run just on BFC.
Good question!:thumbsup: My usual Plan A for knives is see a pattern I like from whatever company, and then see if RR makes something similar.

Agree. Hopefully when they do ittle be in the normal RR line, not the too spendy (for me) RRR line ...

Do you favor a solo blade, or give it a pen or small clip point to keep the lamb company?
I'd like to try a lambsfoot with a pen secondary.:thumbsup:

Stand alone lambsfoot for me, it's the blade that does everything well. 3-¾" closed length would be perfect.

what is this second blade for?”

I'm in the same boat.

Actually have a carbon steel/micarta bow trapper and never once carried it because of the full sized, unnecessary spey blade. There is a single blade bow trapper en route to make up for it.

That cinnamon stag bone on your bow trapper is really nice!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks! Yeah I was up in the air about which one to grab and this just stood out the most. It is a cool mix of colors and design. I'm guessing it's real bone. Feels like it.

I was looking at the cinnamon bone stag copperhead to hazard a shot at a multiple blade carry. To minimize my investment I went with the denim micarta. The first pic is as I intended, a contrasty color. The second was a high contrast desaturated shot of the first.6CB1E1AC-3E3A-40A9-A2AB-07C6E227D777.jpegEB82E89B-B827-402C-A2AC-655E245BF31E.jpeg

golly! 20 pages back!!!! Need to get it up front again.

RR1783 Yellow Classic Carbon "large" work knife with old style pust to release tab liner lock.
A mite thinner mark to pile side than a comparable Case Sodbuster/Sodbuster Jr., but still comfortable to use.
No blade wobble or gaps on this example.
Liner lock pushes the tip to the mark side, but it does not hit the liner.
T10 carbon steel blade. Will take and hold a keen 10 DPS/20 Degrees inclusive edge angle. No edge rolling or chipping to date.

(shown with same series RR2040 Barlow. Another fine work knife.)

nice looking lockback. 😊👍
What model?
Size closed? Looks like it might be a pocketable size, as opposed to a belt sheath knife, like the 110 size.
Synthetic or real bone or horn covers? (hard to tell in the photo.)
I'm quite sure I have the same model knife that Alan posted this morning. Mine is called a Rough Ryder Black Wood Work Knife Large, model RR1708. It's 4" closed with satin-finished 3" stainless drop point blade. I don't know what kind of wood is used for the handle. I carry mine in a pocket, although usually in the long tool pocket on the leg of carpenter jeans. But it's much slimmer and lighter than a Buck 110, and could probably be carried in a front or rear pocket of most pants.

It's 4" closed. They call it blackwood. If you look closely or in the right light you can see brown streaks. The model is RR1708. It's easily pocketable. Not anywhere close to a 110.

////sigh//// figures. out of production/not on the brand owner's website.
Oh well ... I don't "need" another lockback ... 🙄👍
