I hope we see more of these beautifully carved slabs.
They look nice. Probably functional, too.

really great knife buck and taylor did.
such a good looking knife.I didn't hesitate when this knife was announced, I knew I had to have it. But I did second guess spending this amount of money. Well, that all changed today. It is stunningly beautiful, the width fits my hand like a glove and every once in a while I get a 110 that is built absolutely perfect that it doesn't move and opens as smooth as silk. This is this knife
I got a phone call from Buck a few minutes ago. Mine is not coming. Apparently they oversold. They offered to make me something in the Custom Shop. I wanted something that isn't available in the Custom Shop. I think they are going to make it anyway. Now the wait begins.

In the fall of 1975 I bought my first, and for many years only buck knife, a 2 dot 110. I used the knife a lot, and it had the scares to prove it.
The 110 of that era was a square frame. See the radius in the pictures? That is from thousands of times going in and out of sheaths. I still carried that knife most days. The Dec. 2018 Buck of the Month was a nice ebony handled, S30vclip point blade 112. I bought one. I like it a lot. Once in a while I would carry it instead of the old 110. One day last March, I put the 112 on my belt. My house was burglarized that day, The old 110 was one of the items stolen. One can't really replace a knife like that, so I didn't try. I just continued to carry the 112. I've come to really like the S30v steel. It stays sharp a long time. Over time I came to the conclusion that if I was to replace the old 110 I wanted black ebony handles. (After all ebony is available again.) with a S30v clip point blade. Ebony handled 110 are easy to come by, all the production knives have them now. S30v clip point blades are an option in the custom shop. Ebony with S30v? Not available. So I've been hoping someone would do a special run, or they would make some for a buck of the month, or web special. So when the Sept Buck of the Month came out I thought about it for a day, before I ordered. So when I missed out on the Buck of the Month and was offered a custom, I asked for black ebony with rivets, s30v clip point blade, and brass bolsters .
I came home from work yesterday and found this in the mailbox. Black ebony scales, S30v clip point blade. I didn't expect it so soon.
It was sharp. I made it sharper. It was on my belt today. It is a keeper. The 112 is back to backup duty.
There was another surprise in my mailbox today.
With C.J.'s signature.
The pair.
But wait there's more. I got a phone call today. One of the Cocobolo Buck of the months had been returned. Would I like to buy it? Yes I think I would.
I would like to thank Matt Smit, C.J., and everyone else at Buck, that made this happen.

Did they just send you the autographed knife because of the inconvenience?
Only in my wildest dreams could I imagine a response like that. Wow that’s so remarkable! I knew Buck was a good and generous company but that’s truly remarkable customer service. The more I hear and learn about Buck customer service and satisfaction the more I’m impressed. Thanks for sharing your good fortune with us OB.I'm not really the right person to answer that question. But yes it would seem to be the case.
When Matt Smit first contacted me, I was offered, either they could build me a knife from the custom shop and have C.J. sign it, or they could refund my money. After he decided that they would build the knife I wanted, he asked if it was going to be a user, and did I still want C.J. to sign it. My reply was I was unsure if it would be a user and sure have C.J. sign it. I think he realized, I most likely was going to make it a user, and decided to send me the bonus knife, to be a display knife. I didn't know it was coming until yesterday. He certainly didn't have to do it. Of course Buck didn't have to do any of this. All they really had to do, would have been to send me a note saying. Sorry we oversold, we are reversing the charges on you credit card. Everything else is above and beyond. Another example show what a fine company they really are.
