Baby Black Rat I found chilling in the shade. Its pattern looks more like a Gray Rat but I am on the Eastern edge of the Appalachians, so...it should not be??

A little Greenie today. It would not keep its head still.

As a youngster in Florida, these green snakes would weave themselves in the chainlink fence to sun. It took a little effort to get them loose but they were fun once we had them in hand.

Too funny!
As kids (circa 50s) my neighbor and playmate lived next to huge rocks, loaded with common garter snakes.
We‘d catch 5-8, put them in jars with holes in the lid, and some leaves for a jungle flavor. We would load them in my wagon, and knock on neighbors doors offering a snake show. Sherry was the snake charmer. Donations were graciously accepted. I’m sure the nickel or dime we were given was more to get rid of us than for the show.

Probably try to catch some of the neighbor's kids first .

This morning. This guy makes number four since I moved in nearly three months ago, not counting the dead one I found in there on the day I moved in.

Two and a half weeks ago. I forgot to share these little videos that day:

Mom is down to two cats and two kittens now, having given a few kittens away. I think she's fighting the urge to go full-on crazy cat lady.

Not a lot of meat on them birds but maybe add a bit of hickory in the wood pile in case you cook one.

I keep telling the wife to get a harness for her cat so she can walk it. Don't think he'd make it free range with all the dogs in the neighborhood

The secret to being cat crazy is, in your living room, have one chair more than the # of cats.
otherwise you’ll be standing or sitting on the floor.
