Sheepsfoots and wharncliffes! Oh my!

Lots of nice ones here folks. Here's a cheapie that serves me very well.

The 92 talon hasn't left rotation since arriving. Pull is nice, for those who were worried about the nick placement. I would put it at 5-6. It’s actually a little lighter than my 15’s.

I like having the endcap more than I thought I would. Very lightweight with the rosewood scales and it pockets better than a blade of its length should. The barehead tidioute's seemed more popular in this run, but the endcap really makes it balance in the hand, not unlike the effect of a barlow bolster.

In a comparison shot with a sheepfoot 15.

...and with an 85. Please excuse the spear. It'll lose its belly in time and look more like the others :D

I've been wanting a Case seahorse whittler, found this on the exchange. It was a bit pink so added a little Fiebings dye. The master is a beauty, very sturdy blade and it came share.

Have a great day folks.
Best regards

Robin
Before the dye.

I definitely have a preference for the Sheepsfoot .
My favourite folder for many years has been a simple Sheepsfoot knife .
I have dallied with a few others in the last 12 months , but reality and common sense has hit me between the eyes and I've seen the error of my ways .
I'm back to Sheepsfoot Traditionals to stay ,when paired with a Multitool the world is your Oyster :)

Here's a little fixed-blade, modified wharnie that I find really useful:

5.7" overall
2.7" blade

I forgot about this half-congress. Great blade combo - I need to carry this one more often. ;)

A special one to me, as we have many Kane's on my dad's side of the family. Really nice bone, too.

And another rare Case, with unusual bone and as-ground blade finish.

The Bolster on that EJ has been called a "Washington Bolster", Will.
I am not sure how it gathered the moniker, but I have seen it in catalogs from way back!

Here's a cut from a 1928 Schrade Cut. Co. catalog.

Very interesting thank you Charlie. It is odd how that kind of bolster got called Washington?? A nice looking Jack that to say the least. Here's my Wharncliffe Talon in micarta . Regards, Will
