Shirogorov sucks right?

Thanks for the warm welcome. But this isn't about me :)

I have never handled a Shirogorov, however they do have a certain cool factor. They do seem overpriced for what you get. But the market has set that price, so I can only vote with my wallet (the most expensive knife I have is <$300).

If you get one, let us know how you ultimately feel about the purchase...you almost can't sell/trade something that has the emotional value a wedding present from your spouse would have...so a weighty decision.

Geez I didn't find the post that confusing, "I want this knife but I don't want to want it b/c they want too much for it but I really really want it!"
Is this lionspy a cheaper option to consider or is it too small?

Or you could wait for a spydie nirvana but it's not a flipper . . . I held a proto though and it really is nirvana!

Size is fine on both, but they're framelocks. I don't like framelocks. That's what caught my attention about the Shiros in the first place.

When someone asks a question I don't expect to have to decipher their meaning. Alright if it's coherent sarcasm or whatever that's good, but if it's poorly written don't get mad if people don't understand you.

But he didn't write it... And I'm not mad.

Anyone have any experience with a Dervish Navajo? Looks a little big for my tastes, but it might still be worth considering.

Sorry, you people all look the same to me.

You know what I look like?

What?? Where did I say he wrote it?

So now you don't understand your own writing either? What a shame.

The banter is amazing. I feel like I'm watching a Quentin Tarentino movie. :D

My Shirogorov F95 blue anodized titanium frame lock bearings flipper sucks in one and only one way. The price approaching 4-figures is a bit rich. However, it's about the smoothest highest-quality flipper out there. Very slick, thin and narrow profile using maximum blade of 3.75" in a fairly small handle.

Alright... I quoted him, so therefore I was saying he wrote this thread? He said, "geez I don't find the post that confusing" and then went on to explain how he interpreted it. I responded to him and used the word "someone" to imply you. I never said he wrote it and I'll ask you again to point out where I did. You don't have to be so condescending when you reply to me, you wouldn't be in person, honestly. It's clear I was talking about you, and if you have a hard time understanding that, then how do you expect people to understand your original post? Won't post again after this because this is all way off topic, but the topic was never clear from the start... What do you want people to say, there's obviously some people who love shirogorov knives, and there's some that don't, it's your decision to make the purchase.

I'd personally never spend that much on a knife, but I can see why others would. The bottom line is if you have the cash (which you seem to have) to spend, and it's worth it to you, go for it. It's just weird how people say some knives are "way overpriced" yet are seriously considering buying it. If you're buying it, it's not overpriced to you, or else you wouldn't buy it! Yes, just taking into account the cost of materials it's overpriced, but that's clearly not all that's to it.

All rhetoric and linguistic, presuppositional analysis aside...

I absolutely love my recently purchased F 95T SRBS in S90v which is my EDC.

Used it meaningfully for the first time last week at a Single Malt Scotch Whisky tasting, prepping rock Oysters in the shell which were duly filled with a tasty Kilchoman single cask enjoyed au natural.

...and am just about to purchase my second Shirogorov namely a 111 Carbon Fibre in 390M.

If like me you appreciate fine craftsmanship and can afford it "high end carry" isn't a big deal.

Well if you can do without a flipper you can get an axis lock afck on the bay for 2 bills and then add cf scales.

How's it going brother? When it comes to Shirogorov, people are either going to tell you they love it or they hate it. I have a Custom Division F95T Slim and it it unbelievably awesome. I detest the price tag and at times I get extremely upset I had to pay that much. But when I get my Shirogorov out of the knife case I quickly forget all about what it cost me and I marvel at the quality and level of perfection in this knife. The tolerances are within those limits comparable to the perfection seen in knives that cost much more than Shirogorovs. My initial impression when I received my first Shirogorov was wow; the lines, details, and tolerances were the best I have seen within my personal collection. However, I had some concerns with the action of the blade and the seemingly mediocre flipping performace right out of the box. I spoke with the dealer and they assured me I would be very pleased once it goes through a normal break-in period. Well, let me tell you, I am glad I listened to their advice because it only took a day of flipping and the knife transformed into a masterpiece of a flipper. I simply cannot put this knife down because it is that awesome. Some, maybe even many people will argue that great knives do not require break-in periods but I disagree wholeheartedly. That would be like saying no new performace automobile requires a break-in period, and if it does thrn it is crap or something along those lines. The same goes for things like tires, brakes, etc. All that being said, if you buy a Shirogorov you will be extremely happy. I would not base my decision on what the critics say who have probably never even owned one because they too could not justify the cost in their own heads so they make themselves feel better by "raining on everyone elses's parade." Take my word for it, if you like the design and the feel then do not hesitate and go for it. Go with the single row roller bearing system (SRBS/SRRBS) or the newer multi row roller bearing system (MRBS/MRRBS) and you will be hard pressed buying other knives that are non Shirogorov. I hope that helps to an extent and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. More importantly, congratulations on the marriage. Take care and God Bless brother!

I totally get it brother...

I regularly grab the Shirogorov just to flip it several times throughout the day.

The smile it puts on my face is PRICELESS !

I love my three, overpriced maybe, but I am not so sure. They are extremely well made in so many ways, their attention to minor details is amazing and the knives are designed so well, that now when I EDC one of them, I never think about what they cost when I hang one on my pocket
