Ken, is that patina on VG10?

I'd call it more of a stain than Patina , I've got no idea what its previous owner or owners did to it but it must have been exposed to a strong chemical or acid at some time .
It doesn't worry me , because my knives are users , but I agree it is very unusual to stain VG10 .

PS - the fingerprints aren't permanent marks I just forgot to wipe off the oily blade .
