Smooth ivory bone addiction

I agree with your assessment of smooth ivory bone, although I prefer "smitten." :D

I passed on a smooth white barlow myself, to my lasting regret. If nothing else, the persistent haunting reminds me to choose the white bone the next time(s). I'm particularly grateful I heeded this when selecting my Farmer's Jack....

Really digging the boys knife. Beautiful stuff all the way around!

Its simplicity is its appeal, plus I suspect it has been around on knives for a longtime, not surprisingly!

Here's just one I like and use a lot, I think it's improving...

However, there could be interesting improvements to this type of bone: why not sawn cut Ivory Bone, Scratted or even Jigged?? I don't need no stinkin dye or jiggin can be valid at times though:D

I got the BS in smooth bone.. Liked the handle.. Not the knife!! It needs a new home!! John

Good point Will, something like this...

YES!!!:thumbup:Or as I've said before on a number of occasions, let's see sawn-bone in natural/ivory bone, I think it would be very well received.

Ron You've got a very serious case indeed  Frankly, if you want to reform the only path open to you is to send those distractions to my knife sanatorium immediately. Those kind of symptoms may lead to general delusion and paralysis whereby you actually believe you need no more than the next knife. The only bone you should have is on Cold Turkey...:D Great examples my friend.

Thanks, Will

Great thread and wonderful pictures of Smooth Ivory Bone! I especially like how it mellows with age. I've carried the Conductor in the pic for 4+ years and like the old time character it has developed. My wife gave me the little Magnum for Christmas this year and I look forward to watching it come of age. ;)

Neat! I don't think I've seen a comparison shot that striking before. Beauty, character, and age, all hand in hand.

Will - Yes my friend, serious indeed  I have a couple more, a Washington Jack and a Harness Jack that I need to get a photo of. Then I can add them into the fray convincing all of my affliction!:D
Thank you Sir for the kind compliments.:)
