Question, and correct me if I’m wrong...
On alox soldiers, the simpler red shield with cross was used on the army knives like they were issued to soldiers, the slightly more stylized shield is the current victorinox shield, but what was the simple cross only (not in a shield) used for? Just a special edition, or the older logo?

The white one adds a saw to the Tinker? configuration. The black one adds the scissors (and switches Phillips for awl). The red one adds a hack saw/ file.

The white one was cheap from Tenn-e at the time everyone was learning that nobody liked white plastic handles. The black one was cheap from a garage or estate sale (I'd forgotten I had it; nice surprise). The red one is the one my parents bought me in Basel in 1967.
