Great picture! Its been a lot of years since Ive fished in the ocean. Some day.

So Weirdness abounds. I got a great job offer Friday to move to the Boston area, and I couldnt turn it down. Looks like I am gonna be a proper east coaster again. Anyone here live out that way ?

We will be expecting you at the Northeast Gathering in May. What part of Boston? It's ±60 miles to downtown from my house in seacoast NH, and about 20 minutes to get to the northern 'burbs. Looking forward to meeting you.

Somerville GSM. Walking distance from Davis Square.
Hopefully I can get away for the gathering although its going to be close enough to my starting that I am not sure. Still plan on going to Bladeshow though. Gonna have to figure it out.

Thorny, you're also gonna be right close to Johnny D's. I was driving through Somerville on my way back to NH (from Cambridge) at the beginning of the week. I'm starting a new job (with the same company) in NH at the end of the month, so no more Boston days for me. 'S OK if you don't make the May Gathering - but you damn well better be at trailbum's in October. Let me know when you are settled in. It's a really easy trip down there and my girls like the MoS and the NE Aquarium. Email me (or PM) for my addy and phone #. Welcome (back?) to New England.

Leaving so soon? Congratulations though!

Yeah it kinda Sucks Jerry. I thought I would have a ton more time to hang out in Indiana, but the universe seems to have other ideas. As much as leaving Indy sucks, the new job is gonna be great so there is that ..lol

So this happened

The handle for the Viking hand axe (top) was warped so I swapped handles and cut the Trailhawk down to 15". Initial impressions are very good. Probably run up tomorrow and try them out.

I've been looking at the viking hawk and wishing they made a 48-54" handle for it...

Shouldn't be hard to make that happen. Tedious, but not hard.

Their Viking axe (not viking hand axe) has a 48" handle but it's way more expensive. The pole axe is 72" but also spendy.

yeah - I've considered their danish war axe a couple of times.
also the MAA European war spear.

Miserable weekend. We took Oz to the vet on Friday. He had some redness in his left eye and was bleeding from his mouth. Vet wasn't sure about the eye and wanted a specialist to look at it. Mentioned that he might lose the eye. Could not find the source of bleeding in his mouth. Might be a tumor which would not be good. We have a biopsy scheduled this week.

We've had absolutely no issues with this guy's health until now. We were really hoping for different news: "Give him these antibiotics and everything will clear up." Unfortunately, it looks like it's more serious.

Really love this dog.

We have a friend who is a vet and she's coming over this morning to take another look.

Triggs and I are shattered.

Best of luck on an accurate diagnosis and a speedy recovery gluv.

Injured and sick animals is heartbreaking.

Here's hoping it's something simple.
we went through the doggy brain tumor scenario about 10 years back with Tara's dog -- that was a rough patch.
it's no fun when your fur-kids are sick.

Wait and see what they say after a better check Gus. It could be serious like they said or it could be minor. I am very sorry to hear hes sick. Love you you guys from our family.

Smoke up for Oz! Hope its nothing serious brother! Let me know if you need anything (even if its just to chit chat)!

Damn Gus, sorry to hear about Oz. He sure is a gentle sweet boy. Sure hope he heals and everything works out. My son just was talking about Oz the other day. I was impressed he even remembered his name. He asked me when we ever get another dog he wanted one just like Oz. My answer to him was that I'd love to have a dog just like Oz as well. But he was one in a million for that breed. That doenst mean that the Rottweiler is a bad breed. That just means that Oz is that good. Give him some pets and scratches for us!

Congrads on the new job Thorny.

So sorry to hear that Gus. I'll keep Oz in My thoughts and some smoke in the air for the entire family.

Spent the weekend on my father's river property. Just me and the wife while grandpa babysit our kids. Had a wonderful time. Didn't catch anything but a good Buzz... That being said.... The scenery was beautiful...*

Despite my crappy phone pic.

Good family friends have a lot next to us on the river. They were out with their 130lb rottie. A huge monster lol.

Beautiful dog but not very friendly. Ok with me but growled at my wife a little when she went to pet him.

One thing is certain... You never try and pick up One of his tennis balls... He will eat you... Me... Even his momma/owner!

He dropped it by my foot so i thought he wanted to play fetch... No. That's a trap. I almost fell victim to it lol

But... It's how he was raised. I don't blame a breed for temperment. I blame some breeds for just being naturally more frightening though lol

Rotts and German shepherds... Not sure i could own either... Both beautiful dogs... But these 2 breeds I'm scared of lol. Saw a german shepherd bite threw a mans face... Was chased by a huge rott when i was young...

But really they just kind of look like they will enjoy eating you.

Looks like a cool spot WW. You got gators in them parts? Ever seen one?
