Still no knife from Dale Chudzinski

Good evening all - I too am on the hook for a knife from Dale. Ordered it back in August and like many paid in full. Call me naive but I try to see the good in everyone. Hopefully I will get my knife…my only concern is that there are a lot of crazy people out there and I hate to think what would happen when Dale screws over that one person with a psycho streak who has a fetish for knives…its not like he doesn’t give out his address. Sad to say but I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes. I read through almost all of these posts and I have not read what Dale's rough patch was from. I have heard numerous things from family illness to his wife is dying. I just hope all is well and Dale makes good with all involved.

Sounds to me like Dale needs to 'fess up to whatever-the-hell his problem is, cough up your knife, or refund your money -- IMMEDIATELY. I could not be patient this long! There is no excuse for this I think.

I know that alot of people guard their personal life very intently, and Dale seems to be one of them. But that does not really excuse him for not communicating properly.
Just like Kodiak Jack, i hope all is well with Dale and his family too, buti have a growing doubt that he`ll manage to make good with anyone involved.
If he proves me wrong, great!
He says that he`s shipped two knives to me, i specifically paid higher shipping, so i could get a tracking number. He`s never given me a tracking number.
All this does, is making me suspect that i`ll never get the knife i wanted and paid for.
I just wish he`d email me, with some kind of news. *sigh*

Since you're in a foreign country, he's got you over a barrel, and he knows it.

If it were me, I'd already be camped on his front lawn.

well, maybe someone too far away could assign "rights" to a knife, and allow a nearby forumite to pay a courtesy call. weekly ;)

i keep hearing that "something" unspecified is going on in Dale's life. that's fine, but someone speaking directly on his behalf as well should come forward and tell us/them-all who are waiting. surely it's sounding a bit like a private family matter - that's okay - but they could just say that. family, for instance, has its own obligations. so too does a customer that paid you good hard earned money, and such customers themselves have obligations and matters to attend to.

it's easy-peasy to fill out a postcard, and scrawl "sorry about the wait, dire issues, can't explain, please wait, i'll keep you updated regularly". no promises about dates that can't be made. just keep in contact. it's the human touches that count.

it's funny, but most reviews of dale's work and the advermarketing magazines can get in touch with him, get his story, have plenty of photos of his knives... what's going on with that?

for the customers... harder if you are in another country, i know, but you folx in the USA? what with long distance being fairly cheap, and many folx with cell phones with massive minutes, and included national calling, his phone number(s) are listed. "i haven't heard from" is ... last century. "i can hear you now" is so 21st. in the same way that i have heard that dale is having troubles, i haven't heard (or at least it seems), that y'all are trying to let him hear from you. same thing. write him a nice postcard. his email might not work, but the USPS surely does. call him. hear his story yourself.

good luck, and give the guy a chance still, he appears? to still be around and delivering at least.

I can understand that Dale has family issues. The major problem I have is with him continuing to take people's money and telling them that they will get their knives in a short period of time. He knows this isn't the truth. Why not tell people that there are things in his life that are taking up his time and that it might be a couple of years (not months) until they get their knife? Under the current circumstances, he shouldn't even be taking a deposit until he is able to give a firm delivery date, and he shouldn't be taking full payment until the knife is ready to deliver.

Hey bladite, I agree with your post about civility.

My comment about lawn camping only comes after reading this whole post and realizing just how many attempts at communication people *have* tried with Dale.

If I'd put that much effort into getting him via phone and email (with no response) and if he had my hard earned cash, I'd eventually make it a point to get in the car, drive to his town, and talk with him face-to-face in a civil manner. Make a long weekend out of it and do some sight seeing along the way. If that didn't work, there's always small claims court.

FWIW, I have been trying to get a hold of Dale for the last couple weeks to no avail. He usually takes my calls, so something may be seriously amiss.

I hope all is well with him and his family.
No matter what happens, he will be in my prayers.

Good luck to all of you- - - -

I just got an email from Dale, to which i post the contents of here:
------------------------------
Hi Jo
I am still alive...And will send the knife.
I have enclosed a pic of it. I will get it out by express mail and send you the tracking number.
I have had a ton of crap interfere w/ my life lately,I will not bore you with the details. I appreciate your patience, sorry this was such a sour deal.
I will get it out ASAP.
Take Care,
Dale

He also enclosed a picture of my knife, which i post here:

So, i suppose he`s still alive, and still caring about his customers.
Really wish the crap goes away for this guy.

He promised me my knife in a "day or two" about 3 weeks ago. He said the knife was finished, he just had to make the sheath. Then he asked what I had ordered, and my name and address. The Outdoors Magazine forum banned me for mentioning what Dale has done to me. I guess they want him to take advantage of their other members too. I also noticed Tactical Knives has one of Dale's knives in an article in this issue. They gave his address and website info. More free advertizing for someone who is taking advantage of the public.

Keith: Well, second or third, i wouldn`t know. All i know is that i`ve never gotten a picture before now. And, as the knife-freak i am, i will cut him some more slack. Ofcourse, i`m more likely to believe that i`ll never get this knife either, unless i get a tracking number within 7 days.

Mark: Yeah, it was roughly around 3 weeks ago he "disappeared" from the face of the planet. So there`s still a chance. But then, i have a tendency towards gullible and naive..

Bladite: Nice knives! Damn, now you made me look forward to getting my knife! :D
Hope i do get it then... *crosses fingers*

aarya, any tracking number yet? It's been four days since you posted the photo, and it shouldn't have taken Dale nearly that long to get to the post office, or shipping company.

You wouldn`t believe that it would take four days for him to get to the post office... Would you...
But... Well..

Guess what..

No tracking number.
Am i the only one thinking that this is getting slightly ridiculous?
Ohhwell. I`ll send him an email today, asking politely, if he`s had a chance to get to the post office yet.

Maybe, given the picture, he thinks you'll linger for another three months or so.

You do have something to look at now. Aren't you satisfied?

I`m a difficult customer, as i`m not satisfied until i have the knife in hand.
Dale has another two, 2, days until i send him another paypal invoice, as i cancelled the last one, seeing as he actually replied to my email.
The next one however, i will not cancel until he actually gives me a tracking number.
I mean... Even back in the 1800's it didn`t take you a week to get to the post office.

So, i`m sorry to say this Guyon.. I`m a very difficult customer.. Cause, i actually want the things i pay for. :p
