Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

If Guy went to Florida to make knives then he would hire a bunch of gators to do the labor then blame the gators. The gators teeth just couldn't grind the blanks to the standards that Survive have. So he will hire crocodiles to try and grind the blanks. Please be patient he needs time to come up with a new excuse.

She probably asked him to take out the trash and 9 years later he was still just about to almost be ready to get around to finally doing it and she finally got fed up.
She was fully aware of the scam that Survive was. She sent out emails encouraging people to send money and not ask for a refund. He didn't do it all by himself and I see that he will throw Ellie under the bus. After all he is not the manager so the only other person is her. I hope they both go to prison.

Talking about setting records
I was one of the first ones that filed a complaint. I also contacted the FTC.

A whole week without a comment on Perish! Knives.... you know the company is done now !!! :)
It’s too bad- I’m not sure how I’ll get my news as judgement is passed on Guy Seifferd. The most interesting part of this decades old story is yet to come, and I don’t know how public that information will be.

We can only hope the secret cabal that has been out to stop Survive will continue its covert investigations and leaking information to this thread.

One of the issues that came to light in the latest video is that Guy is cutting the blanks with the edge perpendicular to the rolling direction not parallel which is the norm since that leads to the greatest toughness.
I do really wonder if they actually cut blanks vertical to the rolling direction.

If this is true, that explains most of his problems with production. Blanks cut in the wrong direction are almost impossible to straighten AND have no durability. Don't ask me how I know this....

I found this in one of their videos:
(about 4:40)
It seems some of their blanks are indeed cut perpendicular to the rolling direction.

Yikes. Thats a massive mistake. Pretty much every steel needs to be cut with the grain even if the sales reps and metallurgists tell you otherwise (I've had this happen and had to reach out to Larrin Thomas to refute their claims. He had actual data, they did not). If I can't find the right sheet to fit my design without waste, I custom order the sheets. I'm shocked they weren't doing that with the number of blanks they were making.

I don’t know the rolling direction of these NSM long sheets.

Can someone help me out here? the knives are always cut orthogonal to the plane of the material, so the cut itself is perpendicular to the direction of the roll, regardless of knife orientation.

I'm guessing that means that the knife orientation, butt to tip, in line with the rolling direction is the correct orientation to lay the knife out in?

... so you mean to tell me Guy messed up some of his own knives?
... that he's to blame?
... I don't know how to land this joke, but I feel like there's enough creativity here to do it.

Just another classic example of Guy being hoist with his own petard.

(By the way, this issue was revealed here months ago.)

Here is a quick visualization of why grain direction matter. Here the folds in the paper represent grain lines/ rolling direction. You can see one set of knives is cut with the direction of the grain lines, the other, is cut against them, crossing the grain lines.

As you can see, the blank that is cut with the grain is flat, the one that is cut against the grain looks like a crinkle cut fry.

Oh hell yeah- thanks for the demonstration!
Makes perfect sense.

I learned something new today, and I appreciate it.
