The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

The new tweaked Delta 3V is similar to the hard versions of it in the past. Nice crisp edge. It is what I was wanting to do with a hard version of 3V in the past but was hindered by inherent limitations of the material at the time. Compared to previous attempts at a hard 3V, it's a little bit harder, it's a little bit tougher and it has a little bit better edge durability. These are small tweaks but we did address some of the small issues we used to run into with the standard 3V design at higher hardnesses, so you will see a slight improvement in edge retention and a little bit larger margin for error in rough use.
Fantastic. The old one has treated me very well in terms of edge durability so this is good to hear.

In a post-apocalyptic, I-have-only-one-knife-or-the-zombie-mutant-alien-eats-my-brains type scenario, would you prefer to have the tweaked Delta 3V or the original Delta 3V on hand?

Original Delta 3V

It's very well balanced and it has high values for all of the desirable properties.

That said, there's nothing wrong with the harder tweaked Delta 3V. It's hardly fragile. For many people it is objectively better.

I have a 2024 F350. It makes 500 horsepower and 1200 ft lb of torque. It is roomy, comfortable, it gets surprisingly good fuel economy and it can literally pull a tree out of the ground.

I prefer my 1997 F250 7.3. It's noisy, it's smelly, the AC is borderline, and it has left me stranded more than once.

So, take my preferences with a grain of salt. I'm clearly retarded.*

Thank you so much for clearing that up.
I realize that the tweaked one is WAAAY more than durable enough for anything I need it for in reality.

It may actually be better on a day-to-day basis for me.
But I still look at the performance of the original with awe.

I'm just not there yet with being able to afford both (which I am okay with*).

You had me going. I would still love to see a mini version of the FK2.

Sorry man, I figured everyone would know I was joking. Especially with the crummy iPad doodle black out scribbles lol.

More or less just to give an idea. Was going to use my EDC 2 that would have a similar blade shape, but is some weird mid sized Torx I didn’t feel like messing with much.

Along those lines, I’d love to see a 4”ish UF2
