The Becker, Hiking Stove, Camp Stove, and Cookset/Mess Kit Thread

It did. Of course, it helped that it was 50 degrees out and that we were in a spot with little wind. Sometimes, it just gets the water piping hot. Either way is fine; I always use clean water with the kit.

I'll definitely end up with tat edc Bushbox. May have to make a stove for it. Kathy was just asking me what I wanted for our anniversary. I didn't think we got each other anything, but, in case she forgot...:D

It makes me think my wife can do camp chores when in reality her conribution is using spliing her diet pepsi and complaining about the cold lol... Great pics... I need to get the emberlit stove like yours as it looks like a great piece to have in my pack.

My wife loves this sort of thing as much as I do. Her dad has a summer home in Vermont, and she spent the summers there growing up, and her dad would take her hiking. He was a scout master for like 27 years. He took the kids backpacking, canoeing, etc. The Emberlit is awesome.

Here is an old alcohol stove that I picked up in an antique shop many years ago. I don't see any maker's marks on it. Sad to say that I have never used it but I will when the weather gets better.

That's freakin' awesome Ray, thanks for posting it up.

BTW, iffin ya ever wanna get rid of it, lemme know. ;)

Ray, that stove is simply too neat. It reeks of old-school craftsmanship and is in a slick package... But I'm sure biscuit has like 8 of them, so he'd be the guy to ask :D

Hey, dubz. what are those spice containers that fit in the altoids tin so nicely? are they 5ml screw-top specimen containers? forgive me if you posted this somewhere and I missed it... still struggling to find a suitable way to carry spices and oil into the field.

p.s. don't worry. stove pics to come... gotta have a photo session first.

Is that one new Guyon, or did you already have it?

Ok , maybe this doesn't count , but I bought myself a cheap butane stove , and a 20cm frypan to use at work image.jpg

Sorry if I ruined your thread with my lameass contribution, I'm trying to start somewhere . Next month I wanna get a decent alco burner stove

It's fine. Go back a few pages, that beast I posted wasn't exactly a hiking stove, haha.

Cool. That setup I bought is just to take to work , we have bugger all cooking facilities there except a microwave and a kettle. I wanna learn how to cook for myself a bit , and I think that gas stove is a good start. It'll be staying there , as it only just fits in my pack , and that's without any food or the gas canisters. It was designed for camping where you rock up in a vehicle , not hiking or backpacking IMO.
