In the "DEK2" thread, A ashevar posted a great story about a difficult motorcycle ride through the snow, during which a fellow rider hurt their knee. Using a rock, Ashevar hammered his DEK2 through a fallen tree blocking the path out. As a result, the scales were badly damaged. Afterward, he repaired the scales and seemed satisfied with the result. The knife fulfilled its purpose beautifully.

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist jumped in and, quoting his rough use warranty, offered to replace the scales and resharpen/repair the blade. He went out of his way to follow through on his warranty.

That's not just keeping your word, that is honoring it.

The integrity that Nathan shows through his actions should be commended and praised. We could use a lot more of it in the world today.

Carothers Performance Knives are the best damn knives around and I'm proud to own a few, but more importantly, they're made by the best people.

I used to have a motorcycle. I still have a motorcycle endorsement on my license.

Jo won't let me have one. Apparently our business model doesn't work if I'm dead?

I rode regularly for a lot of years and the job usually afforded that. The hours worked with my latest job caused the Harley to sit until the battery died and people started finger painting on the dust build up. I traded it in for a second safe. Fortunately, I enjoy the knives and guns that fill those safes….nearly as much as riding. Thanks for not riding Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist , we don’t want you squished either. 😆
 
EMCEE EMCEE sounds like you miss riding, we should get dirt bikes 😆. I’ve always wanted one but my parents wouldn’t buy one, we had 4wheelers instead. I’ve taken the road glide down plenty of stone and dirt roads but damn I wanna rip it. I keep saying I’m gonna get one!
 
You’re not wrong bro ! I miss it. Dirt bikes…damn that sounds like trouble. 🤣 When I grow up (retire) in about 8 years, I want one of those super fast side by sides and property.

I’m always thinking about gettin another scoot but the ‘ol lady won’t ride w/ my crazy ass and again, need less work/ more time. Hell, if I had another scoot, I couldn’t afford CPKs….anyhoo .

OK, who am I kiddin? I’m buying a chopper too. 💯 Just for short runs to town.
 
Shoot! I missed I <3 Nathan July luv altogether :( I really ought to feel terrible but strangely, I don't! Anyhoo, since it's your BD month (the 21st, 22nd?) you should get at least a double shot of luv from everyone and everything, including Sadie.
