I think I recently read that Mooresville North Carolina was ranked 10th in the nation for small cities for small businesses and startups.


I think that a big part of it is NASCAR kind of originated here and there are a ton of race teams here. The talent, money, creativity and lack of risk aversion created a perfect environment for all sorts of entrepreneurs to thrive here.

An example of cool shit in Mooresville. A few years ago I did a run of hardened steel grinder discs made out of 4140.

I needed these big 4'x8' plates of thick steel water jet into discs and Dale Earnhardt's shop was about a mile from my house so we brought it over there and had them cut it up for us.

I live on a 10 acre compound and there are multiple good sushi restaurants almost within walking distance.

Cows everywhere

Last week a horse followed Jo home on her walk.
