The 'I ❤ Nathan' Thread

Well, Nathan is kinda scrawny, and Jo is pocket sized.Mark, Bo and Ben are pretty stout and a lot to tote around for even a short time. If you don’t mind me asking, how do you carry them,
I’d be exhausted?

For the record, I am not scrawny. I'm 185 lb of well muscled liver.

I've got to say that finding CPK has been a big highlight for me in 2022-2023. The community here is great and the products are fantastic.

The craftsmanship and pride that goes into making these knives isn't something you see very often in today's world of "churn and burn" disposability.

I honestly don't think there's a single performance aspect that could be improved on these fine tools. Do they have fancy bolsters or scales? No. Do they have scrollwork engraving or 24k gold inlays? No. You don't get bells and whistles. You don't get fads or gimmicks.
What you get is a premium no nonsense tool that excels at what it is designed for, will take anything you can dish out, and will never let you down. Ever. Period. Mind you, all that for a very reasonable price. You'll never regret buying a CPK or trusting it to get the job done.

With all that said, what really impresses me the most are the principles and integrity that the company and crew exemplifies. They say it takes a village to raise a child. The same could be said about creating a knife as good as what Carothers Performance Knives puts out.

Lorien is humble about the talent it takes to come up with the designs he creates. From what I've seen, he's collaborative and approachable. You can see his enthusiasm in his work. He's also a big contributor to this community.

Jo is kind and pleasant to work with. She's on top of her game and makes sure you're getting what you asked for. She devotes time and effort to keeping all of us hooligans happy, which is no simple task.

Nathan doesn't showboat or run his mouth about how his knives could literally cut some of his competitor's products in half, but he could. He doesn't sensationalize his product with over the top marketing and immeasurable statements, but he could. He doesn't raise his prices when he sees what his work is sold for aftermarket, but he could and we would pay it.

Instead, he's the quiet craftsman that hones his trade and doesn’t compromise his standards to save a penny or chase a dollar. The pride is in the work and not the profits. That just plain doesn't exist these days.

As long as I have income and CPK is designing knives I can use, they'll have my business. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather spend my money.

Thank you to the entire CPK Team!

The real question is... what is Nathan
hint- begins with 'Evil', end with 'Genius'

Ps. big and hefty thanks to Nathan for advising me on heat treatment processes. There's a lot of tomfoolery going on and sometimes it's hard to know what to do. It's awesome to have a friend willing to share this important knowledge and wisdom, because it allows me to create knives that I know can take whatever gets thrown at them, (or whatever they get thrown at)👍

Seeing Busse opening up orders for the MOAB at almost twice the price of the K18, reminds me that I DO ❤️ Nathan*. If I was going to EDC a 3lb knife, I'd definitely pick the K18.
