The New Snark Thread

yeah, 17 here at home this morning, might make it to 40 before the rain starts.

it was -19F when i got up this morning -- and +22F at home according to SWMBO.
driving home, it was -4 at Fargo, +1 at the ND/SD border, and 17 at the SD/IA border.
28 when I got home at 6:15.
You were up in my area. Belated welcoming to the frozen tundra. 😂. I'm in Grand Forks everyday for work and live about 90 miles west of there. You should come back in January when it really gets cold. Lol

After seeing your vintage stove collection I was inspired to purchase myself a vintage Coleman propane lantern. It showed up not long ago, but I keep forgetting to go buy mantles so I can make sure it works. I need to go get some fishing line today on my lunch break, so I'll see if I can find some then.

I got my hours changed to day shift last Monday after 11 years of hauling mail overnight and then spent the last 6 years working 4:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. It's definitely weird to be up at 6:00 a.m. everyday, but I'm slowly getting used to it and sleep is starting to come more easily. I'm really looking forward to having a life again and to not miss out on so much anymore.

Good for you guys that got this for the discounted price. Me, I’m done supporting them by buying things immediately. I bought four on day one, that’s a $400 price difference from the sale. Frankly, this is the third time I’ve had this dynamic happen and I’m bothered enough that I may never buy another KA-BAR. They might have lost a customer.

I hear you 1066vik 1066vik , but this has happened to me three times now.

It’s hard to support a business that keeps making me feel marginalized for being an early and steadfast supporter of their product. If anyone at @OFFICIAL_KA-BAR reviewed my buying history, that point would be illustrated in spades. We’re talking about a $400 difference with my initial purchase, that is significant.

I won’t be buying their products immediately anymore, hell, I think I’m done supporting this business. Plenty of other things for me to spend my hard-earned money on.

Credit where credit is due.

I emailed KA-BAR and respectfully shared the sentiments I expressed above, a few days before Thanksgiving. About a week and a half later, I received a response that they empathized with me and a package was on the way. They sent me a custom version of their newest folder. Very classy move.

I’m still apprehensive about immediately buying newer items, but I need to acknowledge that KA-BAR cares and their customer service is second to none.

Don't be fooled by the friendly smile!
British Gurkha Soldier in Italy - Late 1943 / Early 1944
Gurkha Soldiers were tough little warriors from the mountains of Nepal. He is holding a tradtional kukri knife of the type they all carried...and would not hesitate to use on the enemy when engaged in close-quarters fighting!
Alongside him is his SMLE .303 Lee-Enfield rifle.
