The Puukko

Interesting choices, clean work!

That sheath style for the Eldris (beautiful handle shaping btw) is confusing my brain.
I have made some sheaths for my pocketknives with a simple fold over with stitches on the sides and came up with this design. It’s basically a fold up and around with a extra collar around, just like the original neck-sheath for the Eldris

Did you make the puukko in the middle? It looks like a very nice rendition of the Wirkkala design.
Yes I did, and yes, I had the Wirkkala as a inspiration when doing the handle shape :)
I don´t remember the blade smith since I got the blade during the 1990´s. Brass and G-10 followed by home smoked oak.
The Mora 1C have brass and burlap micarta and home smoked oak. The eldris have G-10 and red stabilized maple. Because of the tang I made that with scales and a separator in brass to make it look like a folder from the side (was a bit inspired by the Böker Barlow

This is basically what I imagined the pattern to look like (looked just as crazy as I thought), I would never come up with something like that.. but it sure came out accordingly ;)

Nice work.

I am going to start my next build with a Morakniv Classic blade 1/0 C.
Have any one made a front like the original ones (don´t know the English word for it)? Like a cap... Do I take a pipe and solder a plate with a slot for the tang, or how should I make a cap?

That's how I've seen it described. You can also order a ferule from a scandi knife supplier.

Just picked up this lovely birch organization box at a B³ and it fits a PILE O' PUUKKOs (Fin. pl. puukot 😸).
