You need a new Doctor! Maybe one from Ireland or KentuckyI envy you guys that can still get out in the woods. I also miss drinking alcohol, but that’s against doctors orders.
Yes, but I would be wanting a second opinion as their thought process may be affected by the local drinks. You need a new Doctor! Maybe one from Ireland or Kentucky
That's awesome John. I celebrate 35 in March, and I feel the same way.Connie and I have been married 35 years today. I really don’t know how she put up with me this long, but she’s the best thing that happened to me.
Winter fishing? This may sound silly but Are the fish actually very active with the cold temperature?I enjoy trout fishing when it's cold with Dec-Feb being the prime months. I didn't get out last week because of the holiday and the single digits temperature combined with wind blowing 15-40mph. I don't know if I'll get out this weekend or not. Crazy thing is it's because the weather will be too nice. Temperature is forecast to be in the upper 50's and low 60's. There will be a lot of fishermen out who normally wouldn't be.
The solitude is one of the main reasons I enjoy winter fishing. It's certainly not because I enjoy cleaning the ice out of the eyes on my rod on every other cast.
Here's to 2023 being a great year for everyone!!!
Trout seem to be more active in cold weather than in the heat of summer. I've also caught bass and perch in the winter but they are seldom the target species. My wife was just telling our son about us catching fish from under the ice one winter. We were not ice fishing in the traditional sense. The stream we were fishing had many sections that were frozen over. We stood on the upstream side and let our bait wash under the ice. I can't remember how many we caught that day but it was enough to keep my wife out in the cold. That's a major accomplishment.Winter fishing?
