Yes, nice Al very nice! What are those Winchester (Queen made) Whittlers like fit and finish wise? They sure look nice!

Thanks, Lloyd

Primble That small Hensel Catt is a really beautiful piece, the way the jigging goes into the bolster. Catt Whittler? :eek: I'm not sure my Tabby likes the sound of that!:D Cool Catts for sure those knives:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Will. :thumbup::)

The mellow stag is an IXL George Wostenholm, my friend!

I think it would be a hard thing to do to give up the Richmond but your desire is taken to heart! I think it was Will that called it knife of the year!

What if I said my mama's Maiden name is Richmond. Might that help ?? ;):D:D:D

You can't always put a lot of stock in what that ole Will says. I reckon he called my old Primble ISW Crown Jack with black stag Knife of the Year, or was that knife of a hundred years !?? :confused::confused:;):D Reminds me of me - I tell all of the waitresses over at the diner that they are number one, numeral uno, my favorite, etc.etc. ;):D:D

That IXL is a dandy knife ! :thumbup::)

You Guys are a tough act to follow.

Like that Case Brothers !

Winchester 3971 Balloon Whittler

Al - I reckon you never met a whittler you didn't like neither ! Beauties ! :thumbup:;):D

Rob yours these whittlers are gorgeous as well as your photographic skills.
Blademan I usually don't like pearl but your whittlers are exceptional.
All are great knives

Mike

My best guess is it's 420 stainless. It's a Case Classic that I think was made by Queen.

All of the Case Classics that I've seen had 1095 steel... including the one that I'll be totin' today.

You may be thinking of the Schatt & Morgan keystone series.

Gev Looks like all these compliments have turned Primble's head:confused: :D Not surprising given the vast divisions of knives under his command :eek: Re the Richmond, I used to have a friend who lived in Richmond (England that is and very posh it is too....) that puts me ahead in the queue..:cool: I mentioned his Black Stag knife as being Black Stag knife of the year N.B.:D:D:D I admit he might have yet more knives up his sleeve, as it were, that could even merit the term Knife of the Century We wait with Great Expectations....:thumbup::thumbup:

On another note, I see Queen has just re-released their Wharncliffe Whittler again, about 4" closed.

Thanks, Will

Thanks, gents! Some very nice examples all around. :)

Rob, that's the truth! ;)

Lloyd, the Winchesters compare favorably with GEC... at least that's been my experience.

JSChenk & MerryMadMonk, those Spring Green Courthouse Whittlers are gorgeous (as well as the others). Been looking forever, but can't shake one loose.

Fine lookers that lot Glenn! The CS looks very well turned out, is that Smooth Bone or Horn? And are the blades D2 or their special stainless whose name escapes me....?

Thanks, Will

That is smooth brown bone, IIRC. I don't have the knife handy, so I can't pinpoint the steel right now.

My favorite of that bunch is the second one, it's actually a Camillus with the curved stamp. It's seen some years, but still very snappy.

Thank you Mike ! :thumbup::)

I guess I started it Will. ;):thumbup::D:D:D

All are split backs with the exception of the red case, it being a 3 back spring.

Especially like the Northfield jigged bone ! :thumbup::)

Top to bottom - Empire, Miller, Meriden]

I reckon Jamie never met a pearl handled whittler he didn't like neither !!! Outstanding knives ! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

Glenn - :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)
