Marbles Ram's Horn Barlow (on a Böker cap??):

😍 it.

Question:
Are your backsprings and liners tight on the non-pivot end?

Mine has a 0.15 inch (0.38mm) gap the mark side, according to my feeler guage. ☹️ (the pivot end is tight.👍)
It does not affect functionality, and isn't really noticable/felt in use, so it is a "cosmetic defect". 😇

My matching Marbles Ram Horn canoe is gap free. 😊

Does your rotatation schedule ever pair your Ram Horn Barlow and Canoe?

The more, the merrier, Jeff! 🤓
I have one of those sowbelly stockman models, too. I like mine very much, although the horn on yours is darker than the horn on my sowbelly, and I think I like yours a bit more than my paler version.

I certainly haven't noticed a gap on mine, and a gap of more than 1/8 inch seems like it would be noticeable even to me!

If some of my ram's horn Marbles knives (Barlow, canoe, pruner, and sowbelly stockman) ever show up in the same week of my rotation schedule, it would be purely coincidence! 😲 I have 11 categories of knives (11 columns in a spreadsheet) that I carry each week, and when I set up my schedule, I paid attention to the order of the knives WITHIN each category. But I didn't think at all about how the categories related to each other (i.e., about the contents of the rows in my spreadsheet). Each time I look up what the knives are for a given week, it's a surprise to me. (And sometimes there are glitches I have to fix. Since some (many?) of my knives occur in more than one category, I'll occasionally discover that the same knife shows up in two categories in the same week - maybe a Case amber jigged bone canoe happens to show up as a canoe of the week AND Case knife of the week, for example. Keeps a guy on his toes!🤓)

Your Burl wood looks a lot better/nicer than mine. 😇👍
This is a great Barlow. I believe mine is my most carried Barlow that is equipped with stain less blades.

Thanks. :)
I like the wood on mine, but it often looks too dry to me. I have that same problem with many of my wood handled knives, and rubbing in some mineral oil periodically doesn't seem to help for very long. Maybe I should try giving one of my wood knives a good soak in some kind of wood "conditioner".
