Thrifty Thursday... Cheap Traditional Knives

Slightly cracked scales put this Sarge in the bargain bin at the local Big R several years ago. For $15 I got a decent lockback in 440C with brass bolsters and jigged bone. Locks up solid and cuts just about anything I need to cut. China, Taiwan? Dunno. It's no Buck, that's for sure, but it's thrifty and effective.

I tried touching up the edges of this thrifty pair on a flat rock I sanded smooth by hand a while ago. The results were pleasing!

I only got maybe 3 square inches of smooth useable surface on the rock before I ran out of sandpaper and elbow grease, but it seems to work well, and may replace my ceramic rod for regular touch-ups.

This Cline-Stewart was completely frozen up with rust, in a second-hand store!!!
A classic Cattle knife, I paid $1.00 Canadian for it (over 10 years ago, now). After much soaking I got it to move, then minimally cleaned the blades!! Good German steel, they took great edges. I forget who I gave it to, and I hope they are still using it!!
All blades marked, and good jigged bone that weathered the abuse!! It was finally worthy of collecting for its uber-patina!! Ha Ha!!!

Looks like nobody, including me, posted in this thread last week! o_O
Here's what I intended to post last week, the infamous Cold Steel Kudu:

And this week I want to post this all-stainless ruler knife from Marbles:

Totally missed this thread last Thursday, and it looks like everyone else did, too! o_O ;)

So I'll post TWO econoknives, one for last week and one for today (I've got a million of 'em).
Rough Rider scout:

Marbles "demo knife" (disappointingly "rattly", one of the few examples I have of the claim that "you get what you pay for"):

Just ran across this one a couple weeks ago. I'd never heard of the brand or name "Hartkopt", but I know knives made in Solingen in general are pretty good knives. I figured for $25, I'd give it a shot and I'm glad I did. I put a little oil in the joint, cleaned it up, and put some Renaissance wax on it. It's one of the better lockbacks I have now. Here it is.
