Tyrant Bowie Prototype Run- Z Tuff

I passed on the Forefather Bowie in favor of the Tyrant Bowie (prototype) which I hope to receive soon. I can only afford so many knives on Social Security.😬
I've passed on a few things and then I just saw the Kukri proto thread...(sigh)

This is great news! You must be excited to get these to completion, you've put a lot of effort into this model.

I think everyone is waiting with bated breath.
Nope :)

I think everyone is waiting with bated breath.
Kowalski HT treated called me yesterday and said they were a little behind and would have them done and ready for pickup no later than Tuesday.

They also nearly gave me a heart attack. During the soak and quench, one the of oven fixtures broke and 3 bowies fell to the bottom of the oven, landed on their tips, and got quenched there.

I thought this had happened to that ALL of them. Thank God, the other 50 3V bowies are fine.

Ended up with a pretty cool Salvador Dali esque knife. Yes, this knife is completely hardened. I told them to save it because i'm going to make an art installation out of it.

Or, maybe I'll send it to a naughty customer. I don't make any specific guarantees on flatness in the fine print afterall.... Kydex will be kind of challenging though. 😆

Instead of "Crooked Soul", it's the "Slither" special edition Tyrant Bowie haha... That looks cool beyond measure!

Sorry to hear about the HT mishaps though, glad to know it only happened to 3 of them. Hope they'd make up for this mistake somehow!

Things happen. No matter what I end up with around a 10% scrap rate between various production problems, me messing things up on the grinder, dropping one on the floor, missing my angle on the final edge etc...

Kowalski are great people and they take good care of me.

I need to come up with a cool name for this very special limited edition batch of 3 blades. Dali's famous melting clock painting is called "The Persistence of Memory." Kind of fitting as the steel does in fact have memory. Ain't no way we are getting these straight again 🤣

Did Kowalski HT come through with the goods, Hunter? 🤔

Were you able to get the scales/ pics taken for us to select our options?

Thanks for the update!
